Australian fans of rugby union and darts are in for a treat this summer, as two of the country’s favourite sports collide in a spectacular blend of tries and tungsten.
The British & Irish Lions tour is already a marquee event, but the 2025 edition adds a fresh twist with some serious action. Following the Lions’ clashes in Adelaide and Brisbane, fans can dive straight into Darts Down Under – a unique fusion of sporting theatre, pairing rugby legends with Australia’s top darts professionals across two fan-fuelled live events.
On July 13th in Adelaide and July 20th in Brisbane, venues will light up as former rugby greats trade scrums for set-ups in high-octane contests against darts icons. You’ll get to watch superstars of the oche like Simon The Wizard Whitlock and a homegrown cast of tungsten talent going head-to-head with Union royalty in a carnival of banter, beer, and bullseyes.
Adelaide’s event takes place the day after the Lions meet the AUNZ Invitational XV in what’s already a blockbuster weekend. Brisbane’s edition follows hot on the heels of the first Test Match at Suncorp Stadium – allowing fans to ride the sporting buzz from full-time to flight time.
But we are assured that this won’t be your typical darts night. These shows promise walk-on music, themed rounds, and packed music halls with full-throttle atmospheres and larger-than-life personalities. Think high drama, not hushed tones.
