Dubai did not merely host the opening chapter of the 2026 PDC Asian Tour; it amplified it, projecting a vision of a circuit growing sharper, deeper, and increasingly impossible to ignore. Four events across two days, continents converging, and a clear message delivered with authority: Asian darts is not emerging. It has arrived.

At the centre of the opening surge stood Haruki Muramatsu, who treated the first weekend as personal territory. Across Saturday’s twin events, the Japanese stalwart stitched together back-to-back titles with performances that blended composure and cruelty in equal measure. In the opening tournament of the new season, he overturned a 4–2 deficit in the final against World Championship regular Motomu Sakai, reeling off three legs without hesitation to seal the trophy with a commanding and solid display. It was resilience weaponised.

That momentum never cooled. The second event followed the same pattern, only louder. Muramatsu dismantled Altantulkhuur Myagmarsuren 5–1 in the final with a close on ton performance, completing a day that yielded seven victories without once being dragged to a deciding leg. Efficiency like that does not happen by accident. It is intent, rehearsed and executed.

If Muramatsu provided the weekend’s backbone, brilliance arrived in flashes elsewhere. Tseng Chi-Jui carved his name into the record books with a staggering 115.62 average – the joint-highest ever recorded on the Asian Tour – during a ruthless whitewash in round two. It was a reminder that ceilings across the continent are being raised in real time.

Sunday brought recalibration and redemption. Man Lok Leung, stung by Saturday’s near-misses, responded with authority. The Hong Kong ace conceded just a single leg en route to the semi-finals before overpowering Eduardo Largo and then closing out Alain AbiAbi in the final to claim his eighth Asian Tour crown. Control restored. Order reasserted.

The weekend concluded with a landmark moment. Ryuta Arihara secured his maiden Asian Tour title, surviving match darts and multiple deciding legs to edge Christian Perez in a final that swung violently until its last breath. Perez had earlier produced perfection with a nine-darter, yet even that wasn’t enough to deny Arihara a place in the winners’ circle as the circuit’s 30th different champion.

This is the ecosystem now: depth, danger, diversity. And with five World Championship places awaiting the season’s top performers, every dart thrown carries consequence.

Next stop: Shizuoka, Japan, 4th & 5th April.

History has a funny way of nudging the spotlight toward those already knocking on the door – and right now, that beam is firmly trained on Nitin Kumar. With Paolo Nebrida forced to withdraw through illness, the call has gone out – and Kumar answers it riding a wave of momentum that simply refuses to die down.

This isn’t a last-minute stand-in story. This is form demanding opportunity. Just weeks ago, Kumar etched his name into darts history at PDC World Championship. On the sport’s most intimidating stage, under the Alexandra Palace lights, he became the first Indian player to record a victory there defeating Richard Veenstra – a breakthrough moment that landed far beyond the numbers on a scoreboard. It was calm.

It was composed. And it announced that this was no tourist appearance. Now that confidence travels with him to Riyadh. The Saudi Arabia Darts Masters marks darts’ first-ever visit to the Kingdom, and Kumar steps into a 16-player field as one of eight Asian representatives – but very much not as an afterthought.

This is the second stop on the World Series of Darts calendar, and the timing could not be better. Two nights. One global stage. No easing-in period. Monday clears the runway with the opening round, before Tuesday unleashes a full-throttle blast of quarter-finals, semi-finals and final in one uncompromising session.

The format is ruthless, the margins thin, and reputations mean nothing once the darts are in the air. Around Kumar stands a who’s who of modern darts muscle. Luke Littler. Luke Humphries. Michael van Gerwen. Gian van Veen. Power everywhere you look. But Kumar arrives with something equally valuable – freedom. No expectation. No baggage. Just the quiet belief forged by proving he belongs at Ally Pally, where dreams usually go to die.

Saudi Arabia will crown a champion this week, but for Kumar, this moment is already bigger than brackets and prize money. This is momentum in motion. A breakthrough rolling forward. And another chapter in a story that is very clearly only just getting started.

The 2026 PDC World Series of Darts does not merely tiptoe into the calendar – it arrives with a flourish, a fanfare, and a double-header forged in tungsten history. As winter loosens its grip on Europe, the sport’s travelling theatre of tungsten majesty packs its bags and turns east, where floodlights blaze brighter, arenas hum heavier, and history prepares to stretch its limbs beneath unfamiliar skies.

First stop: Bahrain. Second stop: Saudi Arabia. Both unmistakably drenched in humidity and ambition. At the forefront of this gilded procession stands Luke Littler, the reigning and newly re-crowned World Champion, still only a teenager yet already casting a shadow that stretches across the sport. He is joined by the ice-veined aristocrat of composure, Luke Humphries, world number two and perennial collector of silverware, as the Middle East prepares to host darts’ elite in a two-act opening spectacle.

The Bahrain Darts Masters, now entering its fourth chapter, opens proceedings on January 15–16 at Exhibition World – a venue already familiar with Littler’s brilliance after his triumphant World Series debut there in 2024. This time, he returns not as the future, but as the present tense.

The supporting cast is anything but merely window dressing. World Championship runner-up and European Champion Gian van Veen continues his inexorable rise, while his compatriot Michael van Gerwen – the most prolific conqueror in World Series history – once again sharpens his knives under the desert sun.

Add reigning Bahrain champion Stephen Bunting, the returning firestorm Gerwyn Price, Dutch consistency king Danny Noppert, and the relentless battler Nathan Aspinall, and you have a line-up built not merely to entertain – but to dominate. Yet this is not a closed court. The World Series thrives on collision.

Awaiting the PDC’s aristocracy is a formidable Asian contingent, led by Filipino trailblazers Alexis Toylo and Lourence Ilagan, both seasoned on the world stage. Japan’s precision artisans Motomu Sakai and Ryusei Azemoto bring surgical exactness, while Singapore’s evergreen icon Paul Lim continues to defy chronology. Hong Kong’s Man Lok Leung completes the continental challenge, joined in Bahrain by home hopes Abdulla Saeed and Basem Mahmood – qualifiers who now step onto the grandest of stages.

Barely has the dust settled before the PDC World Series jugganaut moves on.

January 19th–20th sees darts break new ground as Saudi Arabia hosts its inaugural Darts Masters in Riyadh, under the banner of Riyadh Season. The same eight PDC heavyweights remain locked and loaded, but the Asian opposition evolves – drawn from the very summit of the 2025 PDC Asian Tour rankings.

Alongside familiar names Toylo, Ilagan, Sakai, Azemoto, Lim and Leung, the Saudi stage welcomes Filipino pioneer Paolo Nebrida and Japan’s two-time World Championship qualifier Tomoya Goto, each carrying both national expectation and personal ambition into the Global Theater.

This is not merely an exhibition. This is expansion. This is darts announcing, with thunderous clarity, that its borders no longer end at the Channel or the Rhine. The World Series returns not as a novelty, but as a statement. Steel meets sand. Legacy meets emergence. And under Middle Eastern skies, the arrows will fly just the same – unforgiving, unyielding, and utterly glorious.

BEAU Greaves may be the obvious player for UK fans to watch during the 11th anniversary edition of the unique SUPER DARTS tournament begins in Tokyo, Japan on November 29. But there is a superb selection of talent worth apprising yourself of first.

PDC World championship viewers will be familiar with Seigo Asada who was crowned champion last year, and several standout contenders from across the globe are set to to try and follow in his footsteps 12 months on.

Here, our friends at The Sporting News takes a look at all the key names taking part this year and highlights some of the players to watch out for at the ultimate darts showdown.

WATCH: Follow all the SUPER DARTS 2025 action live here

Players from all across the world will be coming to participate, with several big names set to take part.

Beau Greaves

Beau Greaves enters SUPER DARTS 2025 with substantial momentum, after a dominant run in recent PDC and Grand Slam appearances. Most notably, she delivered a standout display in the Grand Slam of Darts group stage, winning five consecutive legs to defeat Niko Springer.

Despite being just 21 years old and this being her debut at the SUPER DARTS event, Greaves has proven she thrives on high-pressure stages. Whilst some may view this event as a warm-up for her return to the PDC World Darts Championship in December, Greaves will be focused on a result in Japan first.

The different format may pose challenges for others, but Greaves’ confidence and current form across competitions mark her out among the favourites.

Image: PDC

Keita Ono

Ono, the 2017 SUPER DARTS champion, returns to the event on home soil with significant experience and a winning pedigree.

Eight years ago, Ono achieved the best 01 stats per match across the competition, and beat Scott Kirchner in the final leg by hitting a 9 mark to clinch the title. Ono further demonstrated his passion for the event during his outstanding performance during the Taichung qualifiers.

Hugo Leung

Leung has delivered quality performances in both steel and soft-tip format and qualifies for this event via the Hong Kong Tour.

His consistent performance in the PDC Asian Tour, reaching multiple semi finals in 2025, demonstrates his ability to play on the big stage.

Leung reached the Best 8 round at the SUPER DARTS tournament in 2024 and will be hoping to go all the way this year.

Boris Krcmar

Another big name ( in every way!) that UK / PDC fans will be familiar with is Krcmar is widely known for his regular presence in PDC tournaments but will once again make the transition to soft-tip competition in Japan this November.

Krcmar certainly has pedigree, securing his spot in the last 16 at the Belgian Darts Open and defeating three-time PDC World Champion Michael Van Gerwen en route earlier this year.

The Croatian’s most notable SUPER DARTS finish came as runner-up in 2015, and his wealth of experience participating in five previous events means he is one to watch this year.

Gaining entry to the tournament as a wild card this year, Krcmar’s still has memories of losing out in the final against Paul Lim at SUPER DARTS 2015, so he will arrive in Tokyo with something to prove.

Seigo Asada

Asada enters the 2025 edition of SUPER DARTS as the defending champion and looking to become a back-to-back winner.

Asada’s composure was demonstrated this year through his dominating performances across the various events ensuring that he won the 2025 PDJ Steel Darts Japan Tour in October.

Asada has made clear his desire to win consecutive SUPER DARTS titles and he is viewed as one of the standout challengers.

Most darts fans are familiar with the basic rules of the sport but SUPER DARTS, is seeking to change the way the world views the game.

A unique and innovative format, SUPER DARTS is gearing up for its 11th edition and features some of the biggest players in the world competing for soft-tip darts glory.

The 2025 event takes place from Nov 29-30 in Tokyo, Japan. Here’s everything you need to know about the tournament.

What is SUPER DARTS?

SUPER DARTS is a unique tournament that features some of the world’s top players competing with soft-tip darts.

The event takes place across two days and features players competing across a best-of-seven-legs format.

Games involve a combination of “Cricket” and “501”, with an added layer of rules, involving multiple throws at the bullseye.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=xsWiNbPSczw%3Fcc_load_policy%3D1%26cc_lang_pref%3Den

Who is competing at SUPER DARTS 2025?

SUPER DARTS has traditionally attracted some of the biggest names in the sport to compete.

14-time steel-tip PDC World Champion Phil Taylor has previously competed, and this year the roll of honour will include several notable players.

Beau Greaves will be making the trip to Tokyo, coming off an incredible stretch of achievements that has included earning a tour card in the PDC and beating Luke Littler in an incredible clash in the World Youth Championship semi-final.

And she will be joined by the likes of Croatia’s Boris Krcmar and Spain’s Joe Justicia, as well as several male and female Japanese players hoping to impress in front of a home crowd.

SUPER DARTS 2025 prize money

The winner of the tournament will take home ¥10,000,000, which is equivalent to about $65,000 USD while the runner-up will still pocket a cool ¥1,500,000 ($10,000 USD).

That represents a huge opportunity for the players involved, including many of the up-and-coming qualifiers from the Asia region.

When and where is SUPER DARTS 2025?

SUPER DARTS 2025 will take place from Saturday, Nov. 29 – Sunday, Nov. 30.

The tournament will take place at the Toyosu PIT in Toyosu, Koto-ku, Tokyo, Japan.

Wolverhampton, opening day – take two. The second session of the 2025 Grand Slam of Darts brought more fireworks, more upsets, and a fair few eyebrow-raisers.

After a dramatic afternoon that gave us enough shocks to power the Molineux floodlights, the remaining four groups stepped up to the oche, all chasing that precious opening win.In this format, getting off to a flyer is crucial.

So, let’s see how the action unfolded across Groups A, C, E, and G, where plenty of big names featured – including a few English lads called Luke and one young woman called Beau who’s been setting the darting world alight.

Daryl Gurney 4–5 Conor Scutt (Group E)

A huge win for The Sniper, who picked the pocket of Superchin in a nervy but entertaining opener. Both players knew how important this one was – with Luke Littler lurking as their next opponent, a loss here could spell trouble. In truth, it wasn’t exactly a classic. It was more like a shootout between two with nicknames that sound like Batman’s lesser-known villains, but Scutt held his nerve. The Englishman also won his opening Grand Slam match on debut last year, bagelling Chizzy 5–0, before ultimately falling short of the knockouts – so he won’t get carried away. Gurney won’t panic either; if you’re going to lose, 5–4 is the way you want to do it.

Martin Schindler 2–5 Luke Woodhouse (Group C)

One of the three aforementioned Lukes got his campaign off to a dream start, with Woody comprehensively beating The Wall. Schindler’s not exactly fond of this tournament – five appearances, five group-stage exits – and unless he finds something fast, that unwanted streak could stretch to six.

Woodhouse, meanwhile, was excellent. A tidy 96.7 average, solid finishing, and a good leg difference to boot. With Alexis Toylo and Stephen Bunting to come, there are further tests to come. Like Scutt, Woody also won his first match on debut last year but failed to progress – a stat he’ll be determined to fix this time around.

Nathan Aspinall 3–5 Michael Smith (Group A)

Somewhere in Wolverhampton, Nathan Aspinall is either scratching his head or banging it against the nearest wall. The reason? Doubles. Horrendous, cursed doubles.

These two have shared far better battles – including the 2022 Grand Slam final, when Bully Boy claimed his long-awaited maiden TV title. But this time, The Asp couldn’t buy a finish, hitting just 13.6% on the outer ring. Smith won’t care – the performance was secondary to the result.

It’s been a while since the St Helens slinger was on our screens, and a winning return was all that mattered. Aspinall’s frustration was clear, but he’s not one to fold easily. Backed into a corner – or in this case, Group A – he usually fights his way out.

Gary Anderson 3–5 Niko Springer (Group G)

The German youngster handled his Grand Slam debut like a seasoned veteran, toppling the two-time World Champion with skill and swagger. A 152 checkout from Springer to level at 2–2 set the tone – and even at the climax with Anderson poised on tops, the 22-year-old stole the show.

Anderson has been an almost ever-present at the Grand Slam since its inception in 2007 ( one absence ) and, remarkably, has never failed to make it out of his group – thanks to darting stat-man David Shaw for that gem. But with Michael van Gerwen and Beau Greaves still to play, and probably needing to beat both, it is going to be a tough year. Then again, it’s Gary Anderson – you wouldn’t dare rule him out.

Luke Humphries 5–0 Alex Spellman (Group A)

No problem for Cool Hand Luke, who clinically dismantled the CDC Champion in a one-sided demolition job. If Niko Springer thought he had it tough on debut, Alex Spellman could argue he had it worse – facing the World No. 1 and reigning champion straight out the gate.Humphries was ruthless from start to finish, never giving the American a sniff.

A 77 average was never going to cut it, but Spellman is far better than this scoreline suggests. Maybe it was nerves, maybe jet lag – maybe both. Either way, unless he sharpens up dramatically, Bully Boy and The Asp will be queuing up for more of the same treatment.

Luke Littler 5–1 Karel Sedláček (Group E)

A perfect night completed for those called Luke – three played, three won. Not so good if you’re called Alex or Karel, both of whom were dispatched by England’s World Cup-winning duo.Sedláček, like Spellman, is better than this performance showed, but he ran into a world champion in cruise control.

Littler even went fishing for his trademark Big Fish finish but had to settle for a 25 checkout instead – not as glamorous, but just as effective.Tomorrow sees Littler take on Scutt in a mouth-watering clash, while the Czech will be hoping to finally get off the mark against Gurney. Good luck with that.

Michael van Gerwen 5–4 Beau Greaves (Group G)

Now this was box office. A thrilling, high-quality encounter that had everything – tension, class, and two players who simply refused to miss. There’s no debate anymore: Beau Greaves is world-class despite her gender. The Doncaster thrower pushed MVG all the way and looked every inch a future PDC title winner. After ten minutes of breathless scoring, it all came down to a deciding leg. Greaves threw first, but a timely 180 from Van Gerwen swung the momentum.

He missed two match darts, giving Beau a chance – she narrowly missed both of hers, and Mighty Mike pounced. A narrow defeat, but a huge statement. If Greaves beats Anderson and MVG handles Springer, she’ll be in pole position to qualify.

Group G is pure chaos – and pure entertainment.

Stephen Bunting 4–5 Alexis Toylo (Group C)

The man with more merchandise than Disneyland endured a nightmare defeat, losing 5–4 to the Filipino qualifier Alexis Toylo. To say Toylo is slow would be an understatement – there are faster cramp suffering sloths crawling about – but don’t mistake that for a lack of quality.Beating Bunting on TV takes skill, and the pace clearly rattled The Bullet.

At one point, you half expected him to nip backstage for a burger and make it back before Toylo threw his next dart. It wasn’t gamesmanship – that’s just his rhythm – but it’s hard to stay in a groove when every leg feels like a rain delay at Wimbledon.

With Schindler and Woodhouse still to come, Bunting’s campaign isn’t over yet, but it’s been a frustrating start. Time to regroup, re-focus – and possibly shave off the beard he grew during that match.

What’s Next? We go again tomorrow, when group winners face each other in a bid to seal qualification – while the losers scrap to avoid elimination.

After two days in Wolverhampton, one thing’s clear: this Grand Slam is already living up to its name.

—–Endd——

Lourence Ilagan clearly didn’t fancy giving up his crown just yet. The Filipino star successfully defended his PDC Asian Championship title in Qingdao on Sunday, beating compatriot Alexis Toylo 7–4 in a final that was equal parts drama, nerves, and missed doubles.

This was the fourth staging of the tournament, billed as Asia’s festival of darts and answer to the continent’s biggest darts showpiece – although Qingdao is quite the contrast to Blackpool. Once again, it delivered a clash of two of the circuit’s heavyweights – though Ilagan showed why his passport comes with an automatic entry stamp to the winner’s circle.

Ilagan’s campaign barely broke a sweat in the group stage, brushing aside Jia Xing Phung and Sonny Balagat as though they were warm-up acts. In the last 16 he eliminated 2022 champion Christian Perez, the same man who’d once denied him before, just to make the point crystal clear: not this time.

On Finals Day, Ilagan saw off Sho Okano 6–2, then stared down Motomu Sakai in the semi-finals. Trailing 4–2, Ilagan rattled off four straight legs, flicking the switch from in trouble to absolutely ruthless faster than Sakai could regroup. That comeback paved the way for a Filipino face-off against Toylo in the final.

And what a start he made: consecutive 12-darters, an early 3–1 cushion, then extending to 5–2 as Toylo’s doubles went on holiday. Alexis did claw it back to 5–4, but more missed chances at crucial moments left the door wide open. Ilagan didn’t need to be asked twice – slamming it shut with all the authority of a defending champion who doesn’t plan on giving up his seat at the head table.

Cue trophy lift, cue celebrations, cue another trip to Wolverhampton for the Grand Slam of Darts.

Alexis Toylo wasn’t exactly a bystander. His run included a whitewash of Mikuru Suzuki (a five-leg stroll that barely gave the Japanese trailblazer time to chalk her darts), plus deciding-leg wins over Qingyu Zhan and the evergreen Paul Lim.

That semi-final against Lim was the kind of battle that proves why darts is the sport where age is just a number. Lim, at 71, pushed Toylo to the wire and very nearly pinched the win. Toylo survived, but it took everything he had.

The final was a step too far, though. Doubling deserted him just when he needed it most, and Ilagan isn’t the kind of opponent who lets you live twice.

Paul Lim, the legend himself, showed he’s still got the fight, seeing off Xiaochen Zong and Ryusei Azemoto before narrowly missing out on the final. Sakai was the other semi-finalist, having beaten Hong Kong’s Man Lok Leung in a quarter-final that could easily have been mistaken for a main event.

Speaking of Leung, the World Cup quarter-finalist did enough to book his spot at the next World Championship, as did Paolo Nebrida. Both snuck through as the next-best non-qualified players on the Asian Tour rankings, joining Ilagan, Toylo, Sakai, Azemoto and Lim at Alexandra Palace.

So when December rolls around, Ally Pally won’t just be full of Brits, Dutchmen, and Germans. Asia’s finest will be there too – and thanks to Qingdao, Ilagan arrives with serious momentum.

Lourence can now kick up his feet and look forward to heading back to the Grand Slam of Darts in November, where the star-studded field will battle for the Eric Bristow Trophy. He’ll arrive as Asia’s man to beat – again – and we are certainly due someone from that continent to threaten lifting a major piece of PDC silverware.

Remarkably, at the sprightly age of 71, Paul Lim has qualified for the PDC World Championship. Again. He is, in fact, the oldest qualifier since… himself, three years ago. Talk about breaking your own records.

It’s another chapter in the Cinderella story of the Singapore Slinger, who somehow manages to keep his tungsten standard at a high level. Whatever Luke Littler is achieving at the youthful end of the scale, Lim is doing at the pensioner’s end.

Qualification was sealed the hard way: clinging to the last available spot on the PDC Asian Tour Order of Merit after 28 events across the continent. The final quartet of tournaments in Qingdao, China, was less a relaxing weekend away and more a sweat-fest of nerves, heat, and last-leg shootouts.

Hong Kong’s Lok Yin Lee finally grabbed a title, beating Motomu Sakai in a decider. Too late to book a ticket to Ally Pally, but a cool $10k will soften the blow. Filipino Alexis Toylo joined the London-bound party with a 5-0 demolition of compatriot Lourence Ilagan, averaging just shy of the ton. Was Ilagan particularly fussed? Probably not – he’s heading to Ally Pally anyway, and likely sharing the Heathrow Airport Uber with Toylo.

Filipino stalwart, Paolo Nebrida chipped in with a win too, edging Tomoya Goto in yet another last-leg shootout that Japanese players seemed contractually obliged to lose that weekend. Then Ryusei Azemoto saved Japan’s blushes by claiming his third title of the year, ensuring he’ll be boarding the same December flight as Sakai.

As for Lim? No title this time, but he didn’t need one. A modest last-16 run, plus a polite trio of round-of-32 exit, was enough to keep him in the frame and book yet another historic Ally Pally appearance. Last year, he went to Lakeside instead and very nearly walked away as WDF World Champion. Imagine that – the difference in age between two particular reigning world champions would have been more than half a century. Darts historians would have fainted on the spot.

There’s still the Asian Championship to come, with two more golden tickets to London up for grabs – plus a Grand Slam spot for the winner. But no matter what happens, Paul Lim remains the man making darts writers pull out their thesaurus in search of fresh superlatives. I’ll keep it simple: legend. Short, accurate, and utterly deserved.

2025 Asian Tour Order Of Merit (Final Standings)

1. Alexis Toylo (Philippines)

2. Motomu Sakai (Japan)

3. Lourence Ilagan (Philippines)

4. Ryusei Azemoto (Japan)

5. Paul Lim (Singapore)

Two very different darting journeys, one shared destination: Alexandra Palace. Over the weekend, the ever-expanding global tapestry of darts found two more names stitched into the lineup for the 2026 Paddy Power World Championship.

Both Xiaochen Zong and Adam Sevada sending a reminder that the sport is far from just a European affair.

Let’s start in Asia, where Xiaochen Zong once again cemented his status as the immovable object of Chinese darts. At just 27, Zong has spent most of the last decade hoarding domestic trophies like a tungsten dragon guarding his treasure.

His latest victory came at the PDC China Championship, where he brushed aside Qingyu Zhan 3–1 in the final. Along the way, Zong suffered a rare wobble – losing a group match to Tianxiao Cao – but quickly righted the ship with whitewash wins and back-to-back straight-set victories.

In the final, his timing was impeccable: 89 and 121 checkouts that slammed the door on Zhan’s hopes and opened the gate to Ally Pally for the fifth time.Granted, Zong is still searching for that elusive first victory on darts’ grandest stage, but with every passing year he looks more seasoned. He will also headline the PDC Asian Championship this autumn in Qingdao, where four days of darting fireworks will pit him against the continent’s finest.

Asian darts has long been labelled the sleeping giant – and with Zong at the helm, it’s finally stirring from its slumber.

Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, Adam Sevada has been turning the CDC into his personal playground. The Californian capped off the Chicago weekend with his fifth ProTour crown of the year, confirming not only his dominance in North America but also his ticket to a debut at Alexandra Palace.

Sevada, nicknamed The Reaper, has been in merciless form throughout 2025. In Chicago, he swatted away opponents with averages in the mid-90s as if they were nothing more than warm-up exercises.

His 7–2 win over Daryl Christie in the Event 13 final was destructive, clinical, and dripping with the aura of a man in total control. Sevada’s triumph felt like the headline act, underlining his place at the top of the CDC rankings.

With the final stretch of the season looming in Indiana, he stands tall as the figurehead of American darts, leading a one-two-three of USA talent alongside Buntz and Leonard Gates.

So, while Europe will inevitably hog much of the Ally Pally limelight, don’t be surprised if the loudest stories this winter come from farther afield. Zong, the pride of China, and Sevada, the scourge of the CDC, both represent the sport’s booming frontiers.

Their journeys couldn’t be more different, but together they symbolise what darts has become: a truly global game where new heroes rise from every corner of the map.

—–Ends—–
