The Boardroom team have long monitored the expansion of commercial and technical partnerships between players and equipment brands. As with other sports, such as tennis and golf, the harnessing of technology seems vital for the development of darts players and for their commercial opportunity. Scolia and Connor Scutt seem to be leading the way with their latest announced partnership:

PLAY BETTER DARTS: Check Out DartWorld’s Dedicated Coaching and Practice Area

Connor Scutt, current PDC Tour Card holder and world number 48, has officially signed with Scolia, the global leader in auto-scoring technology. The deal marks a significant moment in the evolution of the sport, as one of its brightest talents aligns with the most advanced performance platform on the market.

As Connor Scutt continues to make strides in the PDC scene, his commitment to utilising advanced technology is clear.

Insiders close to the player confirm that Scolia’s precision tracking and data-driven feedback have been instrumental in his rise from prodigious talent to established force on the PDC circuit, with appearances in multiple televised majors.

Before a single tungsten missile is liberated from its packaging, there is theatre. There is ceremony. There is that delicious prelude where expectation swells like an orchestral crescendo before the first note is struck. The Gemma Hayter Signature Range by Red Dragon Darts does not merely arrive – it announces itself.

Product: Darts (Steel Tip)

Model:Gemma Hayter (Signature)

Brand: Red Dragon

Material – Tungsten (90%)

Variation: 22g

Price: c£40

PRESENTATION

Imagine unveiling a relic that pays homage to darts’ golden yesteryear yet has been reborn through a contemporary prism of audacity. The barrel is a visual sonnet in purple and obsidian black – colours that do not whisper but proclaim. The accents ripple along the tungsten like lacquered brushstrokes, deliberate and defiant. That violet hue is mirrored exquisitely in the stem and flight combination, producing a symphonic cohesion that feels curated rather than assembled.

This is not an accidental design. This is aesthetic choreography. For those with a seasoned understanding of darts’ historical silhouettes, the straight barrel profile evokes echoes of a legendary archetype – a respectful nod to the past – yet everything about the detailing screams 2025 modernity. It is retro reverence colliding gloriously with present-day swagger. In short – these are stunning. And they know it.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Lift them. Feel them. Because the second these darts settle between your fingers, perception begins to shift.

At 22 grams, logic tells you one thing. Your hand tells you another. There is a density here – a compact gravitas – that feels almost conspiratorial. The barrel is shorter than many contemporary designs, and yet its slender profile paradoxically amplifies the sensation of weight. It feels purposeful. Grounded. Assured.

The grip is not coarse. It does not claw at your fingertips demanding attention. Instead, it offers refinement – a finer, more nuanced texture that rewards control rather than brute pressure. This will not suit those who crave aggressive bite. But for players cultivating touch, rhythm, and repeatability – especially those at the embryonic stage of their darts journey – this is a revelation.

What elevates it further is the intermittent grip patterning along the barrel. These segmented passages allow for micro-adjustments. Slide forward. Drift back. Experiment. You are not locked into a singular holding point; you are invited to discover your equilibrium.

The balance point reveals itself generously around the centre of the barrel – intuitive, cooperative, almost obliging. It does not fight you. It works with you. And that, in equipment terms, is a rare luxury.

For personalisation and finding the perfect weight / model for you you can’t beat the hand on retail experience. Our friends at Pinnacle Darts will be please to help!

FLIGHT TEST

Now comes the true examination – the moment where beauty must justify its existence. Paired with short stems and standard No.2 flights, the Hayter Signature takes to the air with understated authority. The trajectory is clean. Stable. Deceptively direct.

There is no erratic flutter. No awkward wobble. Instead, the dart slices forward with a poised, almost aristocratic glide. The weight distribution ensures a confident nose-down entry without becoming aggressive, and grouping feels natural rather than forced.

The shorter barrel contributes to a compact, efficient release – ideal for players who favour a brisk, economical throw. Because of the refined grip, the dart exits the fingers smoothly, promoting consistency over raw friction. It encourages rhythm. And rhythm, in darts, is everything.

You begin to understand why Gemma Hayter has been producing such composed performances across the PDC and ADC circuits, culminating in her recent World Matchplay debut. Equipment does not create champions – but it certainly amplifies fluency when harmony exists between player and projectile.

This dart feels harmonious. Bold prediction? This might well be the sleeper dart of 2025.

SUMMARY – A GEM OF A DART

The Gemma Hayter Signature by Red Dragon is no gimmick. It is not a novelty splash of colour masking mediocrity. It is, fundamentally, a thoughtfully engineered straight barrel that bridges accessibility and performance.

For beginners, it offers forgiveness, balance, and repeatable grip zones. For more seasoned throwers exploring a straighter profile, it presents a sophisticated option without overbearing aggression. The refined grip ensures longevity of comfort across extended sessions, while the visual presentation delivers undeniable stage presence.

The purple and black aesthetic is assertive yet elegant. The balance is intuitive. The throw is stable. The experience is cohesive. This is a dart that invites you in – and then quietly convinces you to stay.

Available from Red Dragon and select specialist retailers including our friends at Pinnacle Darts, the Hayter Signature stands as one of the most compelling entry-to-intermediate straight barrels on the market right now. A gem by name, And very possibly, by nature.

Within the ever-evolving landscape of dart board innovation and technological refinement, there is a new sheriff in town. PDC official equipment supplier Winmau unveiled a release primed to dominate from the outset. Enter the Blade 360.

Marketed as nothing short of a revolution in visual symmetry, durability and elite-level performance, the Blade 360 arrives draped in expectation and engineered precision. It represents the next evolutionary stride in Winmau’s already formidable lineage of boards, underpinned by the acclaimed Blade 6 Triple Core technology that has become synonymous with resilience and competitive integrity at the highest level of the sport.

Upon receiving this purported masterpiece of craftsmanship and structural ingenuity, Darts World undertook a meticulous and impartial evaluation to add to their growing catalogue of such reviews. The brief was simple: scrutinise every millimetre, assess every fibre and determine whether the hyperbole surrounding its launch was truly substantiated.

BLADE 360 DART BOARD: PRESENTATION

In full focus, the board commands attention immediately. It is not merely functional – it is architecturally striking. At first glance, seasoned eyes will detect only subtle deviations from its predecessor, the Blade 6. Yet those nuances are deliberate and purposeful.

The most conspicuous distinction lies in the branding. Discreet yet assertive Winmau insignias sit across the black segments, accompanied by the 360 emblem – a calculated aesthetic decision that transforms rotation from necessity into theatre.

For content creators, reviewers and broadcasters, this is more than cosmetic indulgence. When the board is rotated to preserve sisal longevity, the branding remains perfectly orientated, visually coherent and camera-ready. What was once an aesthetic compromise has been elegantly resolved. The overall presentation is clean, deliberate and resplendent without being ostentatious.

FLIGHT TEST

Naturally, such an assessment would have been incomplete without a live test drive. The Blade 360 was subjected to an exploratory practice session to gauge its tactile response and audible feedback upon impact – those subtle yet significant variables that seasoned players instantly recognise.

Technologically, the triple core construction, reinforced by carbon backing and three meticulously compressed layers of premium sisal, delivers structural integrity of the highest order. The surface offers uniform density, encouraging confident grouping, while the wiring remains unobtrusive and unforgivingly precise.

Installation is refreshingly uncomplicated. With rotor locks secured and the board repositioned, rotation is seamless, and crucially, the visual symmetry remains intact – a detail that will resonate deeply with those who prize alignment and order.

In play, the Blade 360 performs exactly as one would anticipate from Winmau’s flagship lineage. It is trusted across PDC floor events, Q School, Challenge Tour, Development Tour, Pro Tour and Ladies Tour. That pedigree is earned, not ornamental.

LONG TERM TEST

In addition to our roving contributor AJ Urmston-Toft installing one in his house, another has been on test with our coach analyst team at AIM180 since its launch in November 2025:

“As we use the board in the same predictable way through the years it’s easy to get a direct comparison. The Blade 360 is as durable as its predecessor if not more so and the more pleasing rotation means this is likely to last event longer”

“It has had a great reception form our pro players like Natalie Gilber (above) and our amateur improvers alike...”

PRICE

At a competitively positioned £89.95, the value proposition is compelling.
FINAL THOUGHTS

The all new Winmau Blade 360 does not seek to reinvent the dartboard; it refines it. It enhances aesthetics without sacrificing performance and introduces practical improvements that genuinely matter.

SUMMARY

For players who demand both competitive reliability and visual harmony, the Blade 360 delivers on its ambitious promises. It marries innovation with tradition, precision with presentation and durability with design. It does not merely meet expectation – it elevates it.

If you wish to understand Britain’s sporting psyche in 2025, you do not consult opinion polls or trophy cabinets. You interrogate behaviour. You examine clicks, compulsions, refreshes at midnight.

Flashscore’s UK Yearbook is less a report and more a forensic audit of national obsession, constructed from billions of digital interactions across match centres, player dossiers and competition hubs. It measures appetite, not applause.

Unsurprisingly, football reigns with imperial authority. A staggering 5,947,059,021 views across the calendar year ensured it monopolised every single month. That supremacy is almost geological in its scale. Yet beneath that colossus, something fascinating has been stirring. Darts did not merely perform well. It landed with intent and firmly planted its flag.

With 274,634,755 views, darts established itself as the second most consumed sport in the United Kingdom, overtaking tennis, which settled on 238,400,139. That is not a statistical quirk. It is a recalibration of hierarchy. For decades, darts has thrived in packed arenas and raucous December nights, but this suggests a broader cultural permeation – sustained, measurable, undeniable.

At the centre of that momentum sits Luke Littler. His World Championship duel with Michael van Gerwen in January accumulated 952,887 views within 24 hours, the most consumed non-football match of the entire year. That figure alone speaks to crossover magnetism. And by football, we mean the type played by Mo Salah – not the annual Thanksgiving endurance fest watched by millions on American’s each November.

Individually, Littler ranked 11th among all athletes in the UK with 701,409 profile visits. He was the only non-footballer inside the top 20 and the third most viewed British player overall, positioned alongside names who inhabit the Premier League stratosphere. For a darts player to intrude upon that ecosystem is extraordinary.

December offered further intrigue. Justin Hood emerged as the most watched athlete of the month – the sole occasion in 2025 where a footballer did not occupy that summit. When darts captures attention, it does so with emphatic resonance.

The PDC World Darts Championship itself amassed 2,783,520 competition page opens, eclipsing the FA Cup on 2,738,587. A single darts tournament outperformed English football’s most venerable cup competition.

The numbers depict a UK audience that remains football devoted, yet increasingly receptive to narrative, personality and insurgent brilliance. Darts is no longer peripheral. It is present, persistent and climbing.

There are dart reviews, and then there are moments where a piece of equipment briefly transcends its own material reality and becomes something closer to a ceremonial artefact. Standing pitchside for Darts World, roving reporter AJ Urmston-Toft encountered precisely that sensation when the Jonny Clayton Red Dragon 50th Anniversary set emerged from its packaging like a relic excavated from a tungsten reliquary.

First Impressions

Before a dart is ever thrown, this set announces itself visually with unashamed opulence. The presentation box does not whisper restraint; it declares occasion. Gold and black dominate the aesthetic, not in a gaudy way, but with a measured, almost ceremonial authority. This is anniversary gold – burnished, deliberate, and steeped in legacy. Each set is individually numbered, lending the entire experience a sense of scarcity and reverence, as though ownership itself is a privilege rather than a transaction.

Lift the lid and the barrels immediately command attention. Straight, uncompromising, and beautifully proportioned, they wear their design philosophy proudly. The front section greets the eye with wide-cut ring grip that looks purposeful without appearing aggressive. It suggests control rather than abrasion. As the barrel transitions rearward, the texture subtly evolves, introducing a secondary grip profile that feels engineered rather than decorative. For the player who craves repeatability, this dart practically insists on it. Wherever the fingers land, the barrel seems to guide them back to the same place, time after time, throw after throw.

For personalisation and finding the perfect weight / model for you you can’t beat the hand on retail experience. Our friends at Pinnacle Darts will be please to help!

Testing

Once airborne, the balance becomes the story. These darts do not fight the thrower. They do not wobble, nor do they demand adjustment. The straight barrel and tapered nose combination create a clean, obedient flight path that rewards a smooth, rhythmic action. There is something deeply satisfying about watching them leave the hand and settle into the board with quiet inevitability, as if they were always destined for that destination.

In The Box

The accompanying setup only heightens the visual drama. Clayton’s signature flights and stems harmonise perfectly with the barrel design, while the additional Red Dragon gold-and-black flights reinforce the commemorative theme. Nitro stems complete the ensemble, adding both resilience and cohesion.

Summary

As a complete package, this is Red Dragon at its most confident. The barrels, the flights, the stems, the commemorative plaque, the point holder – all housed within a presentation box that feels worthy of display rather than storage.

It is, in every sense, a collector’s piece that still yearns to be thrown. A dilemma that simultaneously seduces the aspiring thrower while appealing to the disciplined restraint and reverent sensibilities of the committed collector.

180 Review

For devotees of The Ferret, this is not merely a set of darts.
Winmau, storied UK darts manufacturer, launched an exciting series of new darts ranges today, with the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship in full swing and set to attract a legion of new fans and players to the sport.

The new launches are headlined by the Frontier Collection, which features the three-dart Lunaris, Fornax and Exion ranges, all of which come equipped with cutting-edge Switch Point technology – a first for Winmau darts.

Perhaps the biggest news is Winmau’s innovative Switch Point system, featuring a threaded rapid-change mechanism, allows for lighting fast-changes, ensuring players remain competition-ready with precision equipment at all times and enabling them to customize their individual playing styles.

Made from 90% Tungsten alloy and weighing between 21-25g, all three ranges are also equipped with Winmau’s Fusion system, enhancing flight stability and control.

The Lunaris, retailing at £90.00, is the shining star of the Frontier Collection, with its elegant geometric grip pattern flowing seamlessly into the flight design, symbolizing harmony and precision. Inspired by the graceful geometry of the night sky, Lunaris reflects the alignment and symmetry found in the Lyra constellation, brought to life through its diamond and line-milled grip.

The geometric barrel design provides confident grip, consistent control and stunning electric blue visuals, with a functional ring grip positioned at the rear.

The Fornax, retailing at £85.00, fuses celestial design with competitive precision. Its design bridges cosmic inspiration with technical mastery, featuring a precision-milled triangular grip that draws from the harmonious alignment of the stars, translating their symmetry into a tactile, controlled throwing experience.

Every detail of the Fornax barrel is sculpted for purpose, the geometric grip pattern provides a confident, repeatable hold, while its sleek profile ensures consistent release and balanced flight.

The Exion, retailing at £100.00, is inspired by the formation of three radiant stars, its black-gold-black barrel design mirroring celestial symmetry. The golden centre represents the brilliance at the heart of the constellation, framed by two darker segments that symbolise balance and depth.

This meticulous alignment isn’t just aesthetic – it’s performance-driven. The buttress grooved milled block pattern provides consistent grip zones along the barrel, giving players a confident and repeatable hold.

The launch of the Frontier Collection is accompanied by a series of additional dart sets, including player sets from the likes of three-time PDC World Darts Champion, Michael van Gerwen and Daryl Gurney, one of the PDC’s most dynamic players. The van Gerwen and Gurney player collections are the actual playing darts they will be using during this year’s World Darts Championship.

Earlier this month, Winmau also launched the Equalizer, an all-new dartboard, developed in partnership with the Junior Darts Corporation (JDC), designed to revolutionise how players train, learn and compete, no matter their age or skill level.

Engineered for players of all abilities – from first-time beginners to seasoned competitors – the Equalizer is the ultimate training partner. It features expanded scoring zones around the bullseye, doubles, and trebles, creating a more forgiving experience that rewards accuracy and encourages improvement.

Tom Brown, CEO of Nodor Group, commented: “We’re delighted to launch a series of new dart collections as excitement around the PDC World Darts Championship ramps up and the action at ‘Ally Pally’ no doubt inspires experienced players to refine their skills and new players to try out the sport for the first time.

Element 6: Two fantastic examples of one of the best innovations in barrel making over the past 20 years. Both models are the natural tungsten with the diamond fusion grip that this range pioneered.

The 24g is one of the parallel styles that were first offered c2010. A hybrid between a Bristow shaped barrel but with a ring grip pattern closer to that of earlier Bob Anderson’s. The diamond adds a security that you cannot match. A functional dart in the extreme.

But if you want to move to what was the cutting edge and is still ‘Grade A’ try the 25g model.

Like RD’s own Fusion or Cyclone models they have a large – totally smooth – front/nose section with a smaller grip section toward the stem. With the ‘Element 6’ added, the grip zone allows a delicate hold on a more destructive dart. Be patient and you’ll be rewarded.

Grizzly: These were a ground breaking model offered in a couple of differing grip formats. The mix of knurling grip zones and fine ring grip areas also offered a variety of styles with a similar feel.

The tapered 25g is another dart for those who like a methodical no nonsense approach with minimal complications to get in the way. I was much more taken by revisiting the 24g that had knurled sections to a barrel shape reminiscent of Klaasen or Tony David. The dart feels more comfortable than many from that era and you’ll see how Grizzly were so influential.

Hexoset: These are another of those models that gathered a mythology about them over the years, a little like the Shockwave of the first 50th release. The non-tubular shape and more solid geometric lines seem to have led to a real sea change in dart design that computer aided design and advanced CDC techniques have since accelerated.

The reissue of these was met with genuine delight by many collectors and players who regretted not getting to try them or moving onto something else. Collectors again seem delighted.

Golden Virgins: This shape seems to be making a real return to prominence. If you are looking to try more bulbous darts, but feel you may need weight or some length of barrel then these are a tremendous place to start.

Despite the terrible name you should take these seriously. Take your time and play about with set-ups and grip positions. I thoroughly enjoyed my favourite dart coating as well as trying the different grip point obviously offered by the wide ring cuts nearer the point or the almost shark grip nearer the stem

Again the four re issues stir the memory both for nostalgia and excellence. A remarkable thing is that the Element 6 models are available for a similar cost to their list price in 2010/11!

FAB FIVE COLLECTED

The ‘Fab Five’ of Red Dragon’s current playing line up have had themed special edition sets released in celebration. We looked at the first three available, Luke Humphries, Gian Van Veen and Jonny Clayton, in the previous issue.Next to drop was always going to impress:

Peter Wright: Oddly, due to his normal flamboyance, the Snakebite editions are more subtle and designed to appeal to a wide range than you might have expected. The shirt is majority black but with the colourful snakeskin embellishments on the shoulders and sleeves.

The darts are a black and gold version of Peter’s hugely successful World champions edition darts first seen for his 2020 title triumph. Having reviewed previous sets I can safely say these are my favourite. The coating softens the grip a little. They look superb if you are collecting and are less distracting if you are playing!

Again, if you buy them to collect or display you will be tempted to use them, it’s that simple. You can even get a discount of the new European Champion’s sartorial selection if you are quick about it!

Gerwyn Price: Released on the same day as publication of this magazine issue it will be intriguing to see which model and in what direction Red Dragon go with the special Iceman options.

Gezzy’s branding is simple and sharp so his shirt and extras are very strong, so it is likely that they’ll be finishing with a bang! Keep your eye out on our social and at reddragondarts.com for more 50th anniversary bonuses.

Happy Birthday, one again and Congratulations to all concerned!

When the original Darts World team accepted a new dart companies advert in the mid 1970’s I doubt that even the most optimistic of them would have believed that five decades later the two companies would be hitting the bullseye only a couple of years apart.

Impressively the fanfare for Red Dragon’s 50th anniversary has celebrated some milestone models and fan friendly designs as well as focusing on a few of their storied names with very player focused special editions.

Product: Selected Classic Darts

Brand: Red Dragon

Variation: 4 Milestone Models

Material: Tungsten

Price: £25-40

THE BIRTHDAY BUNDLE (1)

There are 6 models under the 4 different listed titles in what might be thought of as the Red Dragon Birthday Box!

Chunky Stumpy: Two fantastic pieces of nostalgia but that are also reminders of how fashions and technologies evolve. Both of the models are the natural tungsten with yellow highlights and each suits players who like to drop the dart in after a natural loop to the board.

The knurled grip model (7) certainly does not look dated and clearly influenced the darts Ross Montgomery has used for his late career bloom. I would encourage those in their later years or those suffering any kind of strain injury to give them a try.

Penetrators: These area ground breaking deceptively simple looking darts in a couple of differing grip formats. They feel slim and precise, rather than the bomb styles of some others from the era. Scott Waites demonstrated these barrels true potential winning majors in both codes and Lakeside World titles.

If you like a light hold and don’t need a high grip then select the curvier model (4) – calm down at the back – if you need a little more feel in the finger try the other (1).

Shockwave: My first visit to Red Dragon coincided with a special project discreetly happening in workshops. They were colouring some darts in a very unusual style for Peter Wright. This technique worked and when combined with a kind of bump or bubble barrel produced a very popular bit of kit.

The reissue of these was met with genuine delight by many who regretted not getting to try them or moving onto something else. Collectors also seemed delighted.

For personalisation and finding the perfect weight / model for you you can’t beat the hands on retail experience. Our friends at Pinnacle Darts will be please to help!

Torpedo: This shape was neglected for far too long. After early success, with the under-appreciated Leighton Rees, the torpedo shape seemed to have been overtaken by parallel or bomb styles thanks to Bristow and Lowe et al. Luke Humphries proved that the stability they offer is a great baseline to build from.

The re-issued Torpedo (2) is an unusual mix of ring cut grip and knurling. Take your time and play about with your set up. You might surprise yourself, I did!

THE SPECIAL ONES

The ‘Fab Five’ of Red Dragon’s current playing line up have had themed special edition sets released in celebration. Currently only three are available.

Luke Humphries: The onyx coating on Luke’s weapons of choice definitely adds something to them and not merely cosmetically. Black is a slimming colour in all ways and psychologically these feel less of a blunt instrument than some models. The black and gold themed box set is impressive from flights and stems through to the signature plaque as a touch for those who like to collect.

Perhaps the biggest winner is the shirt! A simple blue and white tour style shirt with an almost 80s tennis pattern which is far less Jackson Pollock than Cool Hand’s usual attire.

Gian Van Veen: Shhh, be very quiet about these. They are the hidden gem in these launch series. Black onyx coated version of GVV’s element/diamond fusion grip tour model (main image) with lovely additional accessories and a superbly understated special edition shirt as well!

The only problem here will be if you buy them to collect or display you will be tempted to use them, it’s that simple. You can even get a discount of the new European Champion’s sartorial selection if you are quick about it!

Jonny Clayton: Released last week and perfect for at least two types of darts folk. Those who like Johnny’s ‘Hiraeth’ release, but don’t like the stone-like feel or perhaps prefer more solid colouring. If so, these will be for you.

Jonny’s branding crosses over easily so his accessories are very strong, The 50-year flights and the black and gold stems look very smart but not over the top. Again the shirt is a more subtle version of Clayton familiar Red and celtic / dragon designs.

Gerwyn Price and Peter Wright – What will Snakebite specials be like! – still to come.

Keep your eye out on our social and at reddragondarts.com for more 50th anniversary bonuses.

Happy Birthday and Congratulations!

Gaining recognition from the darting world through his participation in the PDC World Cup of Darts, Michele Turetta was able to carry his run of form into early 2024, securing a two-year Tour Card, enabling him to compete in PDC ranking events.

While now in 2025 it looks likely Turetta will lose his Tour Card, there have been many positive signs from ‘Il Ture’, and he looks a good bet to have another successful outing at Q-School again in 2026.

First Impressions:

Michele uses his own signature darts from Mission, which are… unique, to say the least. A barrel perhaps closest resembling a Jelle Klaasen style dart, they have a defined point of grip towards the rear, with a more subtle grip towards the front for stability.

The barrels have been sand blasted, mitigating the ‘worn in’ phase that proves commonplace with all new darts. While adding a slightly softer feel, the darts retain their grip, with the shot blasting reducing slipping when in high pressure situations.

Grip and Feel

Simple radial grooves dominate the rear of the barrel, with a micro-grip nearest the shaft, and a deeper cut ring-grip rising to the raised central section. The deeper cuts are positioned on the raised section itself, acting like a wall for players to push against in order to generate power and control without the need for a particularly aggressive style of grip.

The front section is composed of a deeper cut and wider ring grip, complete with longitudinal cuts running down the barrel towards the point. Due to the angle of the grip, it’s more of a visual effect than a functional point of control, however it still can have its uses as a resting point, supporting the barrel while the bulk of the work in propelling the dart is focused towards the rear.

Tech Specs and Set Up:

The shorter barrel means you’ll likely have to shift the point of balance across the entire setup in order to have the dart fly smoothly through the air, and land in a way that’ll allow you to build off of the first dart. For Michele, that setup is a 40mm to 50mm point, and an all-in-one stem and flight combination, in medium length, and No. 2 shape.

The darts are available in both 21g and 23g, and are 95% tungsten. Both weights share identical dimensions, with a width of 8.3mm at their widest point, and a length of just 40mm. The Turetta’s come fitted with a 32mm Mission black point, a set of short black Mission Sabre shafts, and a set of Turetta’s own signature Mission flights, in No. 2 shape.

These are supernly designed and produced dart that feel fantastic. The torpedo shape of the barrel means the darts are targeted towards a very specific of darts players, but one making a return to the fold, – for them to work for you, it may take a lot of experimentation and tinkering to get the darts set up correctly.

Summary

They’ll set you back £53.95 on the retailers website, earning you 53 points towards in most companies loyalty schemes. It’s good value for a very creative and beautifully produced dart. A try before you buy might be a goodplan to see if you will be able to use a radically different shape and size barrel

Llew Bevan isn’t perhaps yet a household name, but to those that follow along with the WDF and secondary tier PDC events, they’ll know full well what the Pembrokeshire county player is capable of, and the potential he shows in the world of darts.

With this in mind, Mission stepped in, becoming Bevan’s equipment sponsor and producing his own signature darts, which we were lucky enough to be sent to review:

Initial Impressions:

The darts have been coated from the front in a matte black PVD coating, creating a stunning visual with the black 32mm Mission points the darts come supplied with. The rear has also been coated, but with a red PVD coating rather than a continuation of the black. The grip has then been re-cut, leaving only the grooves coated, rather than the entirety of the rear section.

The barrel shape is completely parallel, which highlighted the part of the barrel I really didn’t like – the rear. With a thicker barrel, as these are, you’ll typically see a slight taper towards the rear in order to provide a smooth transition from barrel to shaft – that is not the case with the Bevan’s.

Grip and Feel:

The darts follow a very straightforward profile, with two defined sections of grip separated by a smooth central divide. The grip, which Mission defines as horizontal milled cuts with radial grooves, is unlike anything I’ve tried before – if you’re a fan of an aggressive barrel, these may just be the perfect darts for you. The way the cuts in the barrel progress into the central divide gives the feeling of one continuous grip, which will prove invaluable if, like myself, you’re a player whose grip can shift during the setup of your throwing action.

There is a sharp lip from barrel to stem, resembling older brass darts and the way the stems never sat flush with the barrel. While I understand the logic in wanting to retain the groove depth towards the rear of the barrel, I do feel the silver section could’ve been tapered back slightly for the retail version of the dart, and kept for Bevan’s own personal match-darts.

Tech Specs and Set Up:

As for the technical side of things, the darts across all weights are 51mm long, with a slight variation of widths. The 21g version are 6.75mm, while the 23g version are 7mm.

The darts come fitted with a set of 32mm Mission points, a set of short black Mission Sabre shafts, and a set of Llew Bevan’s signature No. 2 Mission dart flights.

For personalisation and finding the perfect weight / model for you you can’t beat the hands on retail experience. Our friends at Pinnacle Darts will be please to help!

Summary:

Available from all good retailer, the darts will set you back just £58.95, earning you 58 points in most darts makers/sellers loyalty scheme. It’s quite high price for a new player dart yet is good value for a heavily machines and coated dart.n
