Bob Anderson added the Embassy World Title to his impressive collection of silverware and confirm his place in the elite of modern darts. Anderson overcame reigning champion John Lowe after a stellar run.
Darts World trailed the championships in the January edition and reported them the following month.

A brief glance at the statistics of 'The Limstone Cowboy's win, and the calibre of the opposition he faced, confirms what most already knew. In 1988 Anderson was simply the best player in the world and had the trophy to prove it.
