1993 - Issue 243: Taylor Loses England Place. 'Not Political' Say Selectors.

Looking back, at the building storm within darts, some of the reports seem utterly incredible. The one below features attempts to explain the decision to drop Taylor from the England team:

With the benefit of hindsight, and the wide view of these stories across time, none of what followed should have come as any surprise.

Much of Darts World's coverage at this stage was surface neutral but gives copy weight to the establishment (BDO) view. There is some irony in this as preciously Darts World had been quick to question the governing body in other areas.

Somewhat like in families its was alright for those within the group to critisize each other, but if an outside party does so! Circle the wagons boys.
