Darts World Coach has long maintained that darts should be a completely open and level sport. This was another step toward that goal. The piece predicts that a women player may make the final 32 and play on the World Championship stage. Twenty-five years later Fallon Sherrock did just that and went one further.

As we have seen from the regular pieces in 'The Darts World Years' women have always been capable of remarkable feats in darts and the rapid progress of recent years demonstrates that segregation is no longer beneficial. If it ever was.
