Inaugural WDF World Open carries Lakeside prize

By Editorial Staff 14/10/2021

The begining of a new era for the WDF includes many revitalisation and rebuilding tasks, but it is good to see some new projects being rolled out now that the post Coronavirus days are getting closer and closer. One of the most keenly anticipated of these is the WDF World Open:

The WDF are billing the weekend of December 4-5 as one not to be missed! On Saturday, the ‘Gold’ ranked WDF World Open will take place, with a prize fund of over €18,000 and where the men’s and women’s champions will get the golden ticket straight to Lakeside!

On Sunday, 4 men and 2 women can also earn their place upon the Lakeside stage through the qualifying tournament for the WDF World Championships.

Also, the early stages of the Youth World Championships will be held, where the top 4 boys and top 2 girls will qualify to compete at “the Home of World Darts!” in January.

All the action takes place at ‘De Bonte Wever’ in Assen, well known as the host venue of the Dutch Open Darts. So a quality location and a chance to become familiar before next years Dutch Open must surely be a double bonus?
