Live League: Gilliland through to finals night

Chris Gilliland secured his place in Saturday’s finale on Wednesday, despite only winning two of his five matches, as Group A came to a close, with the fields being confirmed for Groups B and C at the Online Darts Live League.

Gilliland, who entered Wednesday’s play having picked up 16 points from the opening two days, won just two of his five matches, but was enough to secure his place in Saturday’s Finale, after recording victories over Richie Burnett and Scott Marsh, with defeats coming against Connor Scutt, Colin Osborne and Jarred Cole, to end on 20 points from a possible 30.

Elsewhere, Jarred Cole narrowly missed out on a place in the Finale, after winning three of his five matches on Wednesday to end on 18 points overall, and will compete in Group B, alongside Connor Scutt, who finished 3rd on 16 points, and edged past Richie Burnett on leg difference. The duo will be joined in Group B by Chas Barstow, Martin Thomas and Ryan Furness.

Despite topping the daily table, Richie Burnett will compete in Group C after finishing 4th overall on 16 points, and will be joined by Scott Marsh and Colin Osborne, who finished 5th and 6th respectively overall, with the pair both ending on 10 points each. The trio will be joined in Group C by Scott Walters, and debutants Adam Smith-Neale and Kurt Parry.

Online Darts Live League continues on Thursday with Group C commencing from 9:30am GMT and Group B commencing from 10pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
