Live League: Griffiths and Scutt start strongly

SHAUN Griffiths and Connor Scutt and took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day 1 of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Ryan Furness in the Saturday’s Champions Week Finale at Phase 5 of the Online Darts Live League.

Former Tour Card Holder, Griffiths, won four of his five matches to end Day 1 of Group C, top, after he recorded victories over Mike Warburton, Martin Adams, Mike Gillet and Scott Williams, with his only defeat coming against Niall Culleton.

Elsewhere, Mike Warburton ended the day in 2nd on 6 points, with the remaining four players all finishing on 4 points each, with Martin Adams finishing 3rd with the highest leg difference, followed by Niall Culleton in 4th, with Mike Gillet and Scott Williams finishing joint bottom, both with a leg difference of –5.

In Group B, it was Connor Scutt who took the early lead, after he won three of his four matches, in recording victories over Richie Burnett, Robert Thornton and Mark Webster, with his only defeat coming against Jim Williams, who also ended the night on 6 points, but finished behind Scutt on leg difference.

Elsewhere, Robert Thornton ended the night in 3rd on 4 points, with Welsh duo Mark Webster and Richie Burnett finishing with one solitary win each, as Webster sits in 4th with a higher leg difference than Burnett.

Online Darts Live League continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Ryan Furness in Saturday’s finale, with Griffiths and Scutt taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 9:30am GMT and Group B will commence from 10pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
