Live League: Smith Neale hits the ground running

Adam Smith-Neale and Connor Scutt took the early lead on Thursday in finishing top of their respective groups with new players entering the fray, looking to join Chris Gilliland in Saturday’s finale at the Online Darts Live League.

Smith-Neale, who won a Challenge Tour title back in August, enjoyed an impressive debut at the Online Darts Live League, in completing a clean sweep with five wins from five, in recording victories over Kurt Parry, Scott Walters, Richie Burnett, Scott Marsh and Colin Osborne, dropping just five legs on route to kick off Group C. 

Elsewhere, Scott Walters and Scott Marsh both ended the day with three wins from five each, with Walters finishing 2nd with a higher leg difference. Colin Osborne and Kurt Parry finished 4th and 5th respectively on 4 points each, as Richie Burnett finished bottom, after failing to register a victory, with five defeats from five. 

In Group B, it was Connor Scutt who was victorious in ending the night, top, after completing a clean sweep with four wins from four, in defeating Chas Barstow, Jarred Cole, Ryan Furness and Martin Thomas, dropping just four legs on route. 

Elsewhere, Ryan Furness ended the night in 2nd on 6 points, Chas Barstow in 3rd on 4 points, Jarred Cole in 4th on 2 points and Martin Thomas bottom on 0 points, after he failed to register a victory, and won just six legs across the evening. 

Online Darts Live League continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Chris Gilliland in Saturday’s finale, with Smith-Neale and Scutt taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 9:30am GMT and Group B will commence from 10pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
