Modus Live League: Burness does the double

By Joe Williams 18/04/2021

Kevin Burness went back-to-back on Saturday, in winning the final group of Week 5, following up from his success in Week 4’s Final Group, as he won three of his four matches as the Week’s play at the Modus Online Live League concluded.

Former Tour Card Holder, Burness, who entered the finale having won Group A earlier in the week, won three of his four matches as he defeated Conan Whitehead, Greg Ritchie and Richie Burnett in the final game of the night, in a game where both were battling it out for the title, which saw Burnett win but only in a last leg decider, so Burness edged him with a higher leg difference to take the crown.

Elsewhere, Greg Ritchie ended the night in 3rd on 4 points, with Darren Beveridge and Conan Whitehead finishing with just one solitary win each, with Beveridge finishing 4th with a higher leg difference.

Modus Online Live League returns on Monday with Week 6 commencing with the first of three days of Group A, with 6 players returning having already competed in the Online Live League. They include 3x major winner Robert Thornton, Former Lakeside Finalist Alan Norris, as well as Richard North, Jamie Kelling, Nathan Girvan and Corrine Hammond. Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
