MODUS Live League: Burnett claims league win

Richie Burnett was victorious on Saturday in winning Week 2 of the Online Darts Live League and securing a place in Champions Week, after defeating Martin Adams in the decider, with Niall Culleton winning the 3rd place playoff to secure his qualification into Champions Week, as the second week of Phase 5 concluded.

Phase 3 winner Burnett, who entered the finale having finished 3rd in Group B on Thursday and Friday, won both of his group phase matches, in defeating Scott Marsh and Niall Culleton to reach the Semi Finals, where he came up against Gary Robson, and saw him off with a 4-2 win to book his place in the final and a guaranteed spot at Champions Week, no matter what the outcome was in the decider.

In the final against Adams in a clash between two of the old guard of the sport, Burnett came from 2-1 down to win three on the spin and defeat Adams 4-2, to pick up the Week 2 crown of Phase 5, and takes a step closer to winning a 2nd Online Darts Live League title.

Elsewhere, beaten Semi Finalists Niall Culleton and Gary Robson competed in a 3rd place playoff to see who would join Burnett and Adams in Champions Week, and it was Culleton who was victorious, in coming out as a 4-0 victor.

Online Darts Live League returns on Monday 11th October with Week 3 commencing with the first of three days of Group A, with the field to be announced in due course. Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
