Johnny Haines and Tony O’Shea took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day 1 of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Gary Stone in the Saturday’s finale at the Online Darts Live League.
Debutant Haines, took the early lead in Group C in winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories over Jamie Caven, Darryl Fitton, Tom Baughan and Martin Heneghan, with his only defeat coming against Shaun Griffiths.
Elsewhere, Darryl Fitton also ended the day with four wins from five, as he sits in 2nd, behind Haines on leg difference and looks set to secure a place in Saturday’s finale. Shaun Griffiths ended his Online Darts Live League debut in 3rd on 6 points, Tom Baughan and Martin Heneghan ended with 4 points each, with Jamie Caven suffering a winless run with five defeats from five.
In Group B, it was Tony O’Shea who ended Day 1, top, as he won three of his four matches in recording victories over Martin Adams, Gary Robson and John Walton, with his only defeat coming against Conor Heneghan.
Elsewhere, Martin Adams also ended the night on 6 points, and the same leg difference as O’Shea, but due to the head-to-head statistic, O’Shea ended 1st. Gary Robson ended his debut in 3rd on 4 points, as John Walton and Conor Heneghan both ended the night with one solitary win each.
Online Darts Live League continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Gary Stone in Saturday’s finale, with Haines and O’Shea taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 9:30am BST and Group B will commence from 10pm BST. Play will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
