MODUS Live League: Iron Man wins again

By Joe Williams 17/07/2021

MAD Qualifier Conor Heneghan just missed out on a place in Champions Week after a superb effort lasting from Monday morning until the 3rd place qualifier of the week's Live League. Kevin Burness lived up to his Iron man moniker with another weekly league win

Burness  was crowned the winner of Week 3 at the Online Darts Live League, after defeating Arron Monk in the final and securing a place in Champions Week, with Chas Barstow also advancing in winning the 3rd place playoff.

Burness, who entered the finale on the back of winning Group A earlier in the week, dropped just three legs in progressing through his group of 3 as he recorded victories over Robert Owen and Arron Monk to book his place in the Semi Finals. At that stage, he came up against Conor Heneghan, and Burness defeated his fellow Irishman 4-2 to book his place in the final, and secure a spot in Champions Week, no matter the outcome in the decider. At that stage, Burness came up against Monk for the 2nd time on the night, and nothing separated the pair in the decider, with Burness sealing the victory with a 49 checkout to defeat Monk 4-3.

Elsewhere, beaten Semi Finalists Conor Heneghan and Chas Barstow competed in a 3rd place playoff, with the winner joining Burness and Monk in Champions Week. Barstow was victorious in defeating Heneghan 4-3, to deny the Irish youngster.

Online Darts Live League returns on Monday 26th July with Week 4 commencing with the first of three days of Group A, with the field to be announced in due course. Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
