MODUS Live League: McDonald completes finals line up

By Editorial Staff 20/06/2021

Week four of the new format Online Darts Live League saw the 'Champions/finals' week line-up completed by Shaun McDonald. claimed the latest weekly league on Saturday night. The 36-year-old from Inverurie produced a remarkable turnaround after losing his first 7 matches in the league.

McDonald edged out James Richardson 4-3 in a tough final after claiming victories over Kevin Burness (4-3) and Rob Collins (4-1). Richardson has thrived in the Live League and other similar style formats since early 2020 and again proved a potent threat removing Richie Burnett (4-1) and John O'Shea (4-2) from contention before demolishing Kevin Burness (4-0).

Burness who had dominated multiple weekly groups again missed out in the 3/4 placed play-off, as former World Champion Richie Burnett claimed his place at the last gasp.

This weeks 'Champions' league will include Martin Adams, Colin Osborne and Conan Whitehead. The runners-up and third-place winners from the first four weeks will also compete for a place in finals and the £5000 in the early part of the week.
