MODUS Live League: Williams leads off Phase 5

JIM Williams was victorious on Saturday in winning Week 1 of the Online Darts Live League and securing a place in Champions Week, after defeating Connor Scutt in the decider, with Mike Warburton winning the 3rd place playoff to secure his qualification into Champions Week, as the first week of Phase 5 concluded.

Phase 3 winner Williams, who entered the finale having finished 3rd in Group B on Thursday and Friday, won just one of his two group phase matches, losing to Mike Warburton, before defeating Graham Usher to reach the Semi-Finals, where he came up against Matthew Dennant, and saw him off with a 4-0 whitewash win to book his place in the final and a guaranteed spot at Champions Week, no matter what the outcome was in the decider.

Williams showed his class in the decider, in which he came up against Connor Scutt, and whitewashed him 4-0, to pick up the Week 1 crown of Phase 5, and takes a step closer to winning a 2nd Online Darts Live League title.

Elsewhere, beaten Semi-Finalists Mike Warburton and Matthew Dennant competed in a 3rd place playoff to see who would join Williams and Scutt in Champions Week, and it was Warburton who was victorious, in coming out as a 4-1 victor.

Online Darts Live League returns on Monday with Week 2 commencing with the first of three days of Group A, with the field including World Champions Martin Adams and Richie Burnett. Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
