MODUS Live League: Wizard's Weekly Wizardry

By Editorial Staff 06/06/2021

Darts World contributor Colin Osborne was the overall winner in the MODUS Live League after easing aside Joe Davis 4-0 to claim the (Week II) title on Saturday night.

It was a different story earlier in the evening after Davis won 4-0 against Osborne to open the group, but a superb 4-1 success over Scott Baker saw The Wizard through. Osborne continued where has had left off with a strong start against the fast-improving Jarred Cole before the youngster fought back to force a deciding leg. The Derby-based Osborne broke throw to claim a 4-3 in the semi-final victory.

The final was a more one-sided affair with Osborne looking determined to reverse his previous defeat and Davis seeming to run out of stamina. A brisk start saw the former Championship of Darts winner assert control of the game that he did not loose until the 4-0 result was completed.

Cole, a former winner on the Development Tour, went through to 3rd place play-off where he defeated Welshman Rob Collins 4-2 to claim his spot in finals week.

Osborne, whose bumper week included the highest average (107) and the biggest finish (170) joins Martin Adams and Scott Marsh who were victorious in Week One.
