Part joins senior citizenry

By JR Lott 18/04/2021

JOHN Part, World Champion within both the BDO and PDC, is the latest player to accept his invitation for the World Seniors Darts. The initial event is planned to take place in early 2022.

Darth Maple has accepted one of fourteen invitational places. An additional two places will come from the 'Senior Q-School' in November this year.

Part adds a global element to the line-up that has so far been exclusively from the United Kingdom. So far nine English players and two Welshmen. In addition, his experience, popularity and gravitas may add colour from the commentary box and the player's area.

In addition to Part, Phil Taylor, Martin Adams, Ted Hankey, Keith Deller, Bob Anderson, John Lowe, John Walton, Andy Fordham, Wayne Warren, Richie Burnett, and Dennis Priestley are also confirmed with the winner claiming a £25,000 cheque.

Details of venue, ticketing arrangements, and broadcast deal are yet to be confirmed but with such a stellar cast neither should pose any difficulty.
