Trina Gulliver, darts' golden girl returns

By JR Lott 20/04/2021

TRAILBLAZER Trina Gulliver joins the World Senior darts bandwagon as it begins to pick up the pace. The Golden Girl dominated the women's game in the 1990s and became the first WDF/BDO World Champion, going on to claim the crownan incredible ten times.

Gulliver, 51, also claimed 6 Winmau World Masters titles including a fairytale return to the winner's circle in 2016. For many, the chance to see Trina competing on a level playing field with men players and for decent prize money will complete a circle that started many years ago. The Warwickshire thrower was often at the forefront of the struggle for better events and increased exposure for women's darts. Her efforts help move the game to today's position with Lisa Ashton holding a PDC Tour card and Fallon Sherrock receiving huge recognition for her Ally Pally efforts.

The possibility of a matchup between Gulliver and Phil Taylor or Ted Hankey adds another element to the already intriguing World Senior darts inaugural event due to take place in 2022. DShe joins a phenomenal list of talent spanning every era of modern darts:
