Fresh from a magnificent semi-final foray at the European Darts Trophy, Niels Zonneveld commenced his Belgian Darts Open campaign in similarly emphatic and authoritative fashion, delivering yet another pristine and technically assured performance.

Opening proceedings in Wieze, the Dutchman produced a ton plus average, punctuated by five maximums, to dispatch Nordic and Baltic qualifier Jani Haavisto. The Finnish thrower offered a commendable and spirited resistance, but ultimately lacked the sustained scoring power required to trouble his opponent. Triple Z now advances to a compelling second round encounter on Saturday evening against Belgium’s number one and national talisman, Mike De Decker.

FULL DETAILS WITH DARTSDATABASE: The PDC EUROPEAN TOUR IN STATS AND FACTS

The subsequent trio of matches all resulted in English victories, although one of them carried an air of inevitability from the outset. Luke Woodhouse navigated his tie against home nation qualifier Pascal Devroey with consummate ease, rarely needing to elevate beyond second gear. Racing into a commanding 5-0 lead, the Harrow’s thrower appeared in complete control before the Belgian salvaged a couple of consolation legs to lend the scoreline a touch of respectability. Nevertheless, Woody will undoubtedly require a more elevated level of performance when he faces Danny Noppert.

Rapid Ricky Evans then overcame compatriot Scott Williams, who appeared a diminished version of his usually flamboyant and expressive self. Intriguingly, Williams fashioned more opportunities on the outer ring, yet it was Evans who demonstrated far greater clinical precision in the decisive moments. The Kettering speedster now progresses to face Ryan “Heavy Metal” Searle in what promises to be a far sterner examination.

Completing the English hat trick of victories, Ryan Joyce battled his way to a hard-fought success over Adam Gawlas in a contest unlikely to be immortalised in the annals of darting excellence. Both players hovered around mid-80 averages, with the Geordie establishing a seemingly comfortable 5-2 advantage before the Czech youngster rallied to reduce the deficit to a single leg. However, Gawlas was unable to capitalise on his throw to force a deciding leg, and his campaign concluded in frustrating fashion. Joyce now prepares to meet Nathan Aspinall in round two, assuming the latter successfully negotiates his own logistical challenges following reported travel delays.

Check Out Our Devoted PDC Area

Cameron Menzies safely progressed to the next phase, securing a composed and largely untroubled victory over Sietse Lap. The Dutchman offered minimal resistance and struggled to impose himself throughout, allowing the Scot to complete his task with efficiency and retain ample reserves for his upcoming clash with Ross Smith. A similarly routine success was enjoyed by William O’Connor, who comfortably dispatched European Tour debutant Tyler Thorpe. The Irishman now advances to face Martin Schindler in Saturday’s evening session.

For a brief period, it appeared the Belgian crowd would have cause for celebration as their representative, Francois Schweyen, surged into a commanding and assertive 4-1 lead against Ryan Meikle. However, the Englishman demonstrated admirable resilience, systematically dismantling the deficit before reeling off five consecutive legs to secure victory. Schweyen’s visible frustration culminated in a moment of self-admonishment, underlining the cruel momentum swings inherent within the sport.

Mansell Proves Point and Sends Bullyboy Home

The session concluded with a contest laced with lingering tension, as Mickey Mansell overcame former World Champion Michael Smith. Their previous encounter had been far from amicable, and the conspicuous absence of a pre-match handshake suggested that any residual animosity had not entirely dissipated. Despite Smith outperforming his opponent statistically across average, checkout percentage, and maximums, he proved incapable of breaching Mansell’s throw. With the Clonoe Cyclone holding the advantage of throwing first, that singular factor ultimately proved decisive. Mansell now progresses to face another Alexandra Palace icon in Michael van Gerwen.

Action in Wieze resumes at 7pm GMT, where the remaining first round fixtures will be completed, setting the stage for an increasingly compelling weekend of darting theatre.

Fourth and final of Darts World’s focus on the quarter breakdown of the post Christmas battle royal that is the PDC’s World Darts Championship.

Last – but by absolutely no means least – we arrive at section four, the bottom quarter of the draw and a section that reads less like a pathway and more like a bare-knuckle alley fight.

Headed by the third seed and three-time World Champion Michael van Gerwen, sprinkled with a two-time title-winning Scotsman, and featuring a Northern Irishman many believe will one day wear the crown himself, this is not a place for the faint-hearted. Survive this lot and you’ve earned your semi-final seat the hard way.

SECTION FOUR

(3) Michael van Gerwen v Arno Merk (Q)

(14) Gary Anderson v Jermaine Wattimena

Justin Hood v Ryan Meikle

(11) Josh Rock v Callan Rydz

German qualifier Arno Merk has already gone beyond expectations, not least by dispatching two-time Ally Pally champion Peter Wright in the previous round. Context matters, though.

That, though, was not vintage Snakebite – no fireworks, no venom. Michael van Gerwen will be quietly thrilled with this draw. Merk can play, no doubt, but over a race of this magnitude, it feels like this is where his journey ends. If MVG is even remotely functional, he should move on.

The second match is box-office. Gary Anderson would dearly love to add a third world title before easing into a life of family time and fishing rods. Against Connor Scutt, the Flying Scotsman was majestic – a reminder that when he’s on song, very few can live with him. Standing in his way is Jermaine Wattimena, finally enjoying the season his talent has long promised.

Two Players Championship titles have suspended the “nearly man” tag, and The Machine Gun looked sharp against Scott Williams, even if he briefly lost his way before re-engaging the turbo.

Anderson is unlikely to grant him that sort of head start. This one has the potential of a real belter.

Then there’s the sneaky little beauty in the middle. Both Justin Hood and Ryan Meikle will be absolutely delighted when they look at this bracket.

At this stage of the World Championship, it’s a draw you circle in red.

Hood has become the new darling of the Palace after his extraordinary epic with Danny Noppert – arguably the match of the tournament so far. Meikle, meanwhile, has quietly gone about his business with minimal fuss and maximum efficiency.

This has “distance” written all over it. Probably another decider. Possibly another classic.

And finally – Josh Rock. One of the most exhilarating talents on planet darts and already being spoken about for the 2026 Premier League, long before this tournament kicked off. A few more wins at Ally Pally and that debate is over.

Standing opposite is Callan Rydz, who has already removed one half of Northern Ireland’s World Cup-winning duo by beating Daryl Gurney and will absolutely believe he can complete the set.

Rock starts favourite, but the Geordie has the scoring power and stage presence to make this seriously uncomfortable. When the smoke clears, logic suggests this section delivers MVG or Anderson against Rock.

The problem? Logic has been a fragile companion at this tournament. Which version of Michael van Gerwen turns up remains the great unknown – and truthfully, you could say the same of Gary Anderson. Add in the very real menace of Wattimena, and suddenly nothing feels nailed on.Messy. Brutal. Fascinating.

Snakebite Peter Wright – a two-time PDC World Champion – was sent tumbling from this year’s tournament in astonishing, almost brutal fashion, whitewashed in straight sets by German qualifier Arno Merk, bringing the curtain down on another intoxicating, nerve-shredding session at Alexandra Palace.

There was no long goodbye. No dramatic last stand. The decorated Scot bowed out with scarcely a whimper, the exit marking the bleak punctuation at the end of what has been a punishing, unforgiving year for the 55-year-old. And yet, while Wright was far from his fearsome best, credit must be lavished upon the man who seized the moment.

Merk was excellent – sharp in the scoring, decisive on the doubles, utterly unburdened by reputation or reverence. There is no erasing Peter Wright’s legacy. It is chiselled into the sport’s bedrock. Multiple world titles. Major triumphs. Reinvention after reinvention. One of the greatest to ever throw a dart.

But over the past couple of years, Snakebite has been more a roll of the dice. On one spin, a player who averages north of the ton and looks every bit the multiple champ he is. On another, a shadow – sub-80, fragile, unrecognisable. On this afternoon, fate spun the wrong number.

Merk, no doubt, prepared for the full volcanic fury of Wright. Instead, he was presented with something far gentler – and he took ruthless advantage. The German now joins Andreas Harrysson as one of two qualifiers already guaranteed a return to the Palace after Christmas.

That number could yet swell to three should Joe Comito conjure an upset against Josh Rock later this evening. For the 33-year old surprise package, the next chapter promises either Michael van Gerwen or William O’Connor – no soft landing awaits.

Prior to Merk’s procession, the Ally Pally faithful were treated to three five-set epics – breathless, bruising encounters that left the crowd buzzing on the final pre-Christmas afternoon.

Among them, Jermaine Wattimena survived a ferocious revival from Scott Williams, booking his place in round three and a meeting with either Gary Anderson or Connor Scutt. The opening acts belonged entirely to the Dutchman. Wattimena rocketed into a 2–0 lead, darts flowing, timing immaculate, the treble bed seemingly magnetised. Then, just as suddenly, the momentum lurched.

After claiming the opening leg of the next set, Williams – Shaggy by name, whirlwind by nature – ignited. The trademark burst arrived including the fan favourite blind 180s. And almost before the Palace faithful could catch its collective breath, the match was level. The tide had turned. The noise followed it. The odds whispered comeback.

But Wattimena refused to be swept away. He steadied himself, dug deep, and in the deciding set produced darts that spoke not of panic, but of composure. Calm. Assertive. Final. The contest was his. And it is no accident. Without question, 2025 has been the finest year of Wattimena’s career.

A decade-long wait for a PDC title finally ended in Hildesheim with a Players Championship triumph, before lightning struck twice in Wigan a few months later. Two titles. Confidence forged. Reputation reborn. The label of dark horse was applied early in this championship – and so far, it fits like a tailored suit.

The north-east standard still flies above the Alexandra Palace as Geordie pride was preserved with Callan Rydz edging an epic, emotionally charged encounter against close friend Daryl Gurney. On an afternoon drenched with tension and drama, Rydz securing a third round PDC World Championship spot after Christmas ensuring Tyneside remains represented on the grandest stage of them all.

With Chris Dobey and Ryan Joyce already fallen, The Riot stood as the lone survivor of Newcastle’s trio. On paper, this battle with Gurney had classic etched all over it. On the oche, it delivered in full technicolour. Rydz burst from the blocks with purpose, seizing early control while the World Cup winner searched for rhythm.

But Gurney does not stay dormant for long. After the first interval, Superchin ignited, roaring back with ferocity. Two sets were reeled off in ruthless fashion, only a single leg conceded, the averages soaring well north of the ton. Momentum had not merely shifted – it had slammed into reverse. Then, just as abruptly, the tide turned again.

Rydz pressed the accelerator. Gurney hit the brakes. Balance restored. Two sets apiece. Destiny beckoned. A decider awaited. Six legs passed, each held with iron grip, and suddenly the contest slipped into darts’ cruellest terrain – must win by two. And here, amid the tension and the thinning oxygen, came the defining moment.

Rydz broke throw. One hold would seal it. The Geordie came within millimetres of landing a third monstrous 167 checkout, the bull just refusing him. It mattered not. He returned, composed himself, and closed the deal with steel in his veins.

Next up lies either the other half of Northern Ireland’s World Cup-winning duo, Josh Rock, or the dangerous Australian Joe Comito.

Earlier in the afternoon, Ryan Meikle was forced to dig into the deepest reserves of resolve to overturn a 2–0 deficit against Jonny Tata.

The New Zealander began with clinical intent, flawless on the outer ring to claim the opener. Meikle responded with increased scoring power in set two – but Tata went one better, detonating four maximums and pinching the fifth leg to double his lead. On another day, that might have been terminal. Then came the collapse.

Without warning, Tata’s previously pristine doubling deserted him entirely. From near-perfect to painfully erratic. The third set still crept to a decider, but had the Kiwi maintained his earlier precision, the contest would have been done and dusted. Instead, the door was left ajar.

Meikle barged through. The deficit was halved. Momentum stirred.Set four was attritional. Neither man sparkled. Averages languished in the seventies. Yet somehow, unbelievably, Tata’s finishing worsened – one successful dart from fourteen at doubles.

Meikle, scarcely fluent himself, was simply less wasteful. And that was enough. All roads led to a deciding set. Both men improved – admittedly a low bar to clear – and with Meikle holding the darts, he struck first. Legs were traded. Overtime teased. Then came the final turning of the screw.

Tata missed again. And again. Meikle did not. Opportunity seized. Line crossed. The Barber survives. Awaiting him after Christmas will be either Danny Noppert or Justin Hood.

TUESDAY 23rd DECEMBER – Afternoon Session

Jonny Tata 2-3 Ryan Meikle

Daryl Gurney 2-3 Callan Rydz

Jermaine Wattimena 3-2 Scott Williams

Peter Wright 0-3 Arno Merk

One half of the reigning World Cup champions, Josh Rock, drew the afternoon session to its conclusion – though not without a proper examination of his credentials. The Northern Irishman was pushed, prodded and periodically rattled by the impressive debutant Gemma Hayter, in a contest that flirted far closer to drama than many expected.

When Big Ben finally tolls midnight, the opening round of the 2026 PDC World Championship will be sealed, signed and filed away. Half of those who dared to dream will already be packing their bags. The remainder will cling to the hope of a post-Christmas return. Rock, albeit with a deep exhale of relief, will be among them.

This was not the crashing-boulder incarnation of Josh Rock, the one that demolishes everything in its path. And that was no accident. Hayter ensured the road was narrow and littered with obstacles. Had the two-time PDC Women’s Series title winner ignited a little earlier, the entire narrative might have been rewritten. Rock surged into a two-set lead, dropping just a solitary leg, and for a moment it felt ominously one-sided. But darts has a habit of recycling scripts.

Gemma Hayter in Action ( Ally Pally 19/12/2025) Pic: Taylor Lanning

Hayter refused to fold. She dug her heels in and claimed the third set superbly, even flirting with perfection before dart number six strayed agonisingly outside the treble twenty. The momentum did not evaporate there. In the fourth, the Hampshire woman stood firm, dragging Rock into a deciding leg and forcing him to confront the very real possibility of an early exit. In the end, it was close – tantalisingly so – but there would be no cigar. Rock edged over the line, relief etched across his face, knowing full well he had been in a contest rather than a procession. Joe Comito awaits next, and the Australian will not be underestimated.

Earlier in the session, Kevin Doets took to the stage hoping to conjure memories of twelve months prior. Last December, Hawkeye had sent former World Champion Michael Smith tumbling out at the first hurdle. This time, it was Matty Dennant who found himself on the wrong end of Doets’ quiet efficiency. Three of the four sets went the full distance, such was the balance of the affair. Dennant struck first, breaking Doets in the fifth leg to take the opener. The response was immediate and emphatic. The Dutch-born, Sweden-based thrower levelled proceedings while posting a thunderous 106.93 average – a statement if ever there was one.

From there, the match devolved into a proper slugfest. Neither man scaled their peak, but when the moment demanded composure – leg five, set on the line – it was Doets who delivered. Twice. Victory secured. Reward earned. Next stop, the Kenyan sensation David Munyua in round two.

Ryan Meikle, by contrast, enjoyed something approaching a gentle jog rather than a marathon. The Barber was never truly threatened by Jesus Salate, who struggled desperately to manufacture meaningful opportunities. Across the opening two sets, the Argentinian managed just a couple of darts at double. Neither found sanctuary. Even when chances did arrive in the third – six in total – only one located its intended home. Meikle was simply operating on a higher frequency, cleaner, sharper and entirely in control. He moves on to face the last New Zealander standing, Jonny Tata.

Then came Leonard Gates. Larger than life and unapologetically theatrical, the Texan swaggered to the oche, unleashing a series of dance moves that brought the crowd to its feet. Ski goggles, rhythm, personality – Gates delivered it all. His opponent, Mickey Mansell, opted for a far more restrained arrival. The contrast was stark.

Unfortunately, the match itself failed to mirror the spectacle of the entrance. Both men laboured badly, struggling to find fluency, with long, grinding legs sucking the life out of the contest. One in particular stretched to a painful 33 darts. Eventually, somehow, they reached parity at 2-2. One set to decide it.

And when the moment demanded clarity, it was Gates who finally cut loose. He dominated the decider, closed out the match, reclaimed his goggles and danced once more. Mansell, by contrast, disappeared into the night. The American marches on and will next face the winner of Nathan Aspinall versus Lourence Ilagan, who settle their business later this evening.

The stage remains unforgiving. The script continues to twist. And the World Championship, as ever, shows no mercy.

FRIDAY 19th DECEMBER – Afternoon Session Report

Kevin Doets 3-1 Matthew Dennant

Ryan Meike 3-0 Jesus Salate

Suffolk star Ryan Meikle will make his sixth Players Championship Finals appearance this weekend after Niko Springer has withdrew from the 2025 Ladbrokes Players Championship Finals due to illness.

Germany’s rising star Springer was set to make his Players Championship Finals debut against fourth seed Ross Smith on Friday evening, following his impressive opening year as a Tour Card Holder.

Under PDC rules, Springer is replaced directly in the draw by the next-ranked player from the 2025 Players Championship rankings, meaning that Ipswich thrower Meikle steps up.

Meikle and Smith will now go head-to-head in the final match of Friday afternoon’s Main Stage action, with Jeffrey de Graaf or world number one Luke Littler awaiting the winner in Round Two.

Daryl Gurney returned to the big stage in winning fashion to begin his challenge at the Elten Safety Shoes Baltic Sea Darts Open on Friday.

Gurney partnered Josh Rock to victory in the BetVictor World Cup of Darts last month in Germany, emotionally claiming the title by defeating Wales in the final.

His first stage appearance since that triumph came as the Winamax European Tour returned to action at Kiel’s Wunderino Arena, where he took on Martin Lukeman.

The 2024 Grand Slam of Darts finalist led 3-1 early on, but Gurney produced a brace of 12-darters to move ahead before sealing victory with an 11-dart kill.

“It was all about getting this first win and I’m happy with the performance and glad to be playing tomorrow,” said Gurney, who now plays Dave Chisnall.

“Coming away from the World Cup I’ve put myself under a bit of pressure, and I’m glad I got away with it. I started off very slowly and was 3-1 down so I’m very pleased to come through that game.”

World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker proved too clinical for Mensur Suljovic, as a 6-2 success over the Austrian moves him through to face Danny Noppert.

“I’m glad to go through,” said the Belgian. “Hopefully I can get my A-game tomorrow and for the rest of the tournament.”

Dirk van Duijvenbode produced the performance of the first round, averaging over 105 as he came from 2-1 down to defeat Ryan Meikle 6-2, sealing victory with a ten-darter.

Cameron Menzies missed double 12 for a perfect leg during his comeback win over Yorick Hofkens, the 18-year-old German who led 2-0, 4-2 and 5-3 before the Scot prevailed in a decider.

Jermaine Wattimena averaged 103 in a high-quality clash with Callan Rydz, who averaged 100 in reply but paid for six missed doubles as the Dutchman moved through to face Martin Schindler.

World Youth Champion Gian van Veen impressed with another 103 average to whitewash Sweden’s Johan Engstrom, and he now meets Jonny Clayton in a tasty second round tie.

Wessel Nijman landed a key 150 finish as he saw off German qualifier Martin Kramer 6-3, and the young Dutchman will now play Damon Heta in round two.

Justin Hood enjoyed a memorable European Tour debut, landing an 11-darter and a 12-darter as he came from 2-0 down to defeat Joe Cullen 6-3, setting up a second round tie with Gurney’s World Cup-winning partner Rock.

Kim Huybrechts will meet Ross Smith in the last 32 after defeating Ian White 6-3, with the Belgian ace finishing 50 percent of his darts at a double and reeling off four legs without reply.

Krysztof Ratajski now meets Gary Anderson after easing past Richard Veenstra with a 6-2 win, while Luke Woodhouse overcame German youngster Liam Maendl-Lawrance to set up a tie with James Wade.

Mickey Mansell reeled off four straight legs to come from 3-2 down for victory against Polish debutant Miroslaw Grudziecki, and the left-hander now plays world number one Luke Humphries on Saturday.

Andy Baetens defied a spirited fightback from Raymond van Barneveld to take a 6-4 win from their clash, after the five-time World Champion landed a 140 finish in hitting back from 2-0 down to level after eight legs.

Ireland’s William O’Connor now faces in-form Gerwyn Price after edging out Poland’s Tytus Kanik in a tight clash where all 11 legs were won with the advantage of throw.

German prospect Niko Springer progressed to a clash with Stephen Bunting despite 16 missed darts at a double in his 6-2 defeat of qualifier Kevin Troppmann.

Ricardo Pietreczko was another German star to progress, as he saw off Poland’s emerging Sebastian Bialecki 6-2 with the aid of four unanswered legs, and he now plays Nathan Aspinall.

Saturday’s second round sees Friday’s winners take on the 16 seeded stars, who are headlined by world number one Luke Humphries, last weekend’s Poland Darts Masters winner Price and reigning Baltic Sea Darts Open champion Rob Cross.

Live coverage from the Elten Safety Shoes Baltic Sea Darts Open will be streamed on DAZN for viewers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and through the DAZN Darts channel on Pluto TV.

Coverage will also be shown on PDCTV (excluding Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and through bookmakers’ worldwide.

Mission Darts has announced the signing of Suffolk slinger Ryan Meikle. Known as The Barber – for the same reason Raymond van Barneveld could have been nicknamed The Postman – Meikle makes the move after nearly a decade with Red Dragon.

The 28-year-old boasts six Development Tour titles and, while still searching for a major breakthrough, is fast approaching a decade of consistent performances on the Pro Tour. And anyone who’s tried that route will tell you – that’s no small feat.

Speaking about the switch, Meikle said:

“I’m delighted to sign with Mission. It’s a fresh start and a new opportunity for me. I’m in my 10th year on the tour now and it feels like the right time to try something new.

“I’ve spoken with a few Mission players on the tour and it’s a company that is rising very quickly. After speaking with Mission, I was very keen to sign with them and I’m excited to see what the future will bring now with their support behind me.”

Equally pleased with the acquisition, Mission’s Player Development Manager Darryl Fitton added:

“When I heard that Ryan was open to joining Mission, I talked to our management and we all agreed that he would be a perfect fit for the company.

“Ryan’s not even turned thirty yet but already has almost a decade of experience playing on the Pro Tour. This is his 10th year with a tour card and he’s become an established player on the tour. I’m excited to work with Ryan and see how we can support him in making even more progress up the rankings.”

A clear talent with his best years still ahead of him, Ryan Meikle is indeed on a Mission – and it’s one he knows is far from impossible.

After a gentle afternoon session The 2025 Dutch Darts Championship opened with a lively Friday evening session at the Autotron in Rosmalen, delivering upsets, drama, and the a good sprinkling of last leg deciders.

The evening kicked off with a stunner, as two-time Euro Tour winner Joe Cullen was convincingly defeated 6–1 by Ipswich’s finest, Ryan Meikle. The Barber trimmed Cullen’s chances with clinical precision, never allowing the Rockstar to find a rhythm. Meikle’s never gone beyond a Euro quarter-final, but after this, he’s sharpened his scissors for a Ryan derby clash with Mr Searle.

Daryl Gurney, who hasn’t lifted a European title since 2019, got off to a flyer. Without needing to find top gear, The Northern Irish World Cup regular saw off Maik Kuivenhoven 6–4. Now he faces Hollywood’s finest, Chris Dobey. Should be a belter.

Reigning World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker came unstuck in a last-leg nail-biter against Mickey Mansell. The Clonoe Cyclone held his nerve, taking full advantage of every throw-first leg, in what felt like a match designed by statisticians. His reward? Just a casual date with Michael van Gerwen. Good luck with that, Mick.

Scotland’s sweetheart Cameron Menzies pulled off a storming comeback against Wesley Plaisier, recovering from 4–1 down to nick it 6–5. The Glaswegian now gets the pleasure of facing world number one Luke Humphries. Expect to see Cammie lying down on the oche if he wins this one.

Dutch youngster Gian van Veen fell short against Boris Krcmar, despite a quality display from the big Croatian. Krcmar threw in five 180s and checked out with the brilliance of a seasoned Tescos worker. He’ll now clash with fellow muscle mountain, Gerwyn Price.

Dutch legend, Raymond van Barneveld rolled back the years with a 6–5 win over home nation qualifier, Jerry Hendriks. Despite a hefty scoring average, Barney was pushed all the way before showing he’s still got the class that brought him five world titles. Next up: a tasty second-round clash with former European champion, Ross Smith.

Dirk van Duijvenbode steamrolled Teemu Harju 6–0, posting a blistering 103.66 average. The Nordic and Baltic qualifier barely had time to unpack before Dirk had packed him off again. he Aubergenius opens up this evening’s session with the best leftie the sport has ever seen, James Wade.

And a great night of thrilling tungsten flinging was night wrapped with Niko Springer quieting the home crowd by dispatching Jermaine Wattimena 6–3. The German prospect now turns his attention to crowd favourite Stephen Bunting. Expect fewer cheers and more tension in that one.

With the seeds now joining the party, things are about to get spicy in Rosmalen. Five Dutch hopes remain – whether any of them can become a home hero remains to be seen. Play resumes at 12pm BST. Have your popcorn ready.
