World Seniors Darts Tour (WSDT) will host a seniors version of the iconic World Masters. The 2022 staging will be from May 27th to 29th at the iconic Lakeside in Frimley Green.
Martin Adams, three times a World Master, and current World Seniors Champion, Robert Thornton who claimed the title back in 2007, will join Phil Taylor who bagged the trophy in 1990.
Twenty players in all with Kevin Painter, Terry Jenkins, Trina Gulliver, Lisa Ashton, Deta Hedman, Bob Anderson, John Lowe, John Part, Keith Deller, Les Wallace, Colin Monk, Roland Scholten and Tony O’Shea also invited.
Places will again be earned through qualifying tournaments between April 8th & 10th and in addition, the number one in the WSDT Order of Merit will receive an invitation with Open Tour events set to take place.
In an original idea the final spot will go to the player with the most votes in a fan poll who will take their position at the Lakeside for the tournament.
Nominations in the fans poll:
Paul Lim, Chris Mason, Peter Evison, Peter Manley, Co Stompe, John Walton and Larry Butler.
