While there is little doubt that Taylor is the King of Blackpool many regard Colin Lloyd's 170 to win the title as the single greatest moment

The over 50s darts organisation then rapidly added several more 'major' events many of which mirrored their traditional/regular tour equivalents such as with Masters and Matchplay events being added as well as a Champion of Champions.

World Cup of Darts underwent several incarnations, new formats and venues and will again be revamped as a doubles only event in 2023:

Since then we have progressed to a total of 7 different winners with MVG also matching Phil's run of 4 in a row....

A set number of events are played in high quality environments, close in style to the PDCs tier tours, and the top 8 table are invited to a tour finals event...

As this fabulous event comes of age we note some of the most significant events and statistics in the 21 years since...

Not surprisingly the first name on the Trophy is that of Phil Taylor....

Despite almost 30 years passing there are still less than a dozen champions. In fact, as more players have hit a perfect leg at the championships as have lifted the title and trophy itself...

It is worth noting that not only do the winners go down in history, the events runners-up have a superb record of going on to pro tour or higher wins and notable overall careers...
