Keane Barry and Bradley Brooks picked up titles on the opening day of the 2022 Winmau Development Tour season in Wigan on Friday.
Two of the sport’s most renowned young talents, Barry and Brooks were victorious as players aged 16-24 competed in the first youth events of the year.
World number 67 Barry hit averages of 108.14 and 101.9 on his way to the Event Two final where he edged out fellow-Irishman Conor Heneghan 5-4.
Having featured in the last three World Championships, 19-year-old Barry now has three Development Tour titles to his name.
Event One saw Brooks produce a 105.47 average in his last 32 win over Danny Goddard, while also defeating Leighton Bennett and Sebastian Bialecki en route to the final.
The 2020 World Youth Champion then beat Christopher Holt 5-1 to claim a fourth Development Tour title of his career.
Saturday will see Events Three and Four take place in Wigan – play will begin at approximately 1030 GMT.
The winner of the 2022 Development Tour Order of Merit will win a PDC Tour Card for 2023-24 and a place in the 2022/23 World Championship.
