Bucks Bash Beds: Youth Derby Win Keeps Title Hopes Alive

A local derby away to a strong Bedfordshire squad is never easy, especially on the back of a tough defeat against Hertfordshire. To keep Buckinghamshire in contention of the league not only a win today was vital but as many legs as possible and wow this team of youngsters did not disappoint.

Josh Bean(18.75) stepped up and got Bucks off to the start they needed with a hard fought 3-2 win. U18 POM Jai Carlton (21.58) winning 3-1 with a great 114 finish. Callum Smith (16.34) playing only his second game won 3-0 with some superb finishing. Harry Beechey (15.82) continued the clinical finishing and winning 3-0. U18 debutant Alfie Major (13.69) held his nerve in a close game winning 3-2 and completing a fantastic 5-0 win for the Bucks U18’s.

Bucks U21 Ladies started off with Chardonnay Bowen(9.92) returning from injury with a 3-2 win. Hannah Kirby(11.09) was unlucky to lose 3-2 to an experienced youth player Charlotte Waller. U21POM Alexandra Dorney(13.66) won convincingly 3-0 getting the win for Bucks youth and keeping the U21 Ladies unbeaten this season winning 2-1.

Overall score going into the U21’s 7 – 1 to Bucks Youth. The U21’s looking for their 1st win of the season and they got off to a flyer with U21 POM Jordan Bowen(25.05) winning 3-0 if he can take his stage form into the super league he will surely be knocking on the senior’s door soon. Bailey Martin(16.75) dug out a 3-2 win. Leo Beechey‘s(19.08) 3-1 win was never in doubt. Toby McLeod(17.65) arguably playing Bedfordshire’s best player Joe Reid narrowly losing 3-2 wiring D10 for the win. Matt Brackley(18.12) playing last kept his concentration winning 3-1. U21’s winning 4-1.

Overall result: Bedfordshire Youth 2 Buckinghamshire Youth 11
