PDC Winmau Challenge Tour Events 8-10 summary
Andy Jenkins returned to the winner’s circle last weekend during the second weekend of the 2022 PDC Winmau Challenge Tour season, whilst Stephen Burton and Danny Van Trijp were also victorious in Niedernhausen, Germany.
Jenkins, who’s last Challenge Tour victory came back in 2019, won Event 10 on Sunday, as he defeated Karel Sedlacek 5-3 in the decider, denying the Czech thrower, who lost out in a final for the 2nd time in four events, having made the final in Event 7 on Friday. Jenkins also recorded victories on the day over Tomas Houdek, Christian Kist, Thomas Lovely, Lee Evans, Paulo Ferreira and Gavin Carlin, as he sits 5th on the Order of Merit heading into the final 10 events of the year.
Saturday saw Stephen Burton win the opening event of the day, as he whitewashed Danny Van Trijp 5-0 in the final of Event 8 to pick up a 3rd Challenge Tour crown of his career. Burton also defeated the likes of Lee Evans, Dragutin Horvat and Reece Colley on route to picking up the £2,000 first prize.
In Event 9, it was Dutchman Danny Van Trijp who was victorious, making up for losing out in the final of Event 8 earlier in the day, as he defeated Lukas Wenig 5-2 to pick up his 1st Challenge Tour crown of his career. Van Trijp also defeated the likes of Matthew Edgar, Christian Kist and David Pallett on route to picking up the title.
