The stable of Glen Durrant, Dimitri Van den Bergh, Jose De Sousa and James Wade has added another star youngster to its roster of playing talent:
The Sportsman Management Company are delighted to officially announce the signing of Justin van Tergouw.
“As a teenage sensation, the young Dutch starlet burst onto the scene winning the Winmau World Masters in 2015 at the tender age of just 15. A year on and Justin impressively defended his crown.
The 22-year old from Utrecht then proceeded to win successive BDO World Youth Championships in 2017 and 2018. Shortly after that Justin was unfortunately plagued by injury hampering what was an extremely prosperous darting career.
Then a return to the oche was delayed further due to the pandemic. Thankfully, the future now looks bright for the young virtuoso tungsten flinger as he looks to reignite his journey under new management.
Eager to get right back to business in the sport, Justin said: “I would like to thank Mac and his team for this opportunity and for believing in me”.
Determinedly, he added: “My ambition is to get a tour card and become a professional darts player. That has been my dream since I was 6-years old. “I hope Mac [Elkin] can take me to the next level as he is a top manager.“ Once upon a time, I was a back-to-back World Youth Champion so it would be a nice thing to achieve in the men’s”, smiled Justin.
Equally as ecstatic about the signing, a delighted Mac Elkin said:
“I am incredibly thrilled about Justin coming on board. “He is a player I’ve watched develop for many years and it’s great to see him return to the game after a spell on the sidelines – I’ve always been interested in signing him from day one.
“I’m confident that under our guidance, together with the wealth of experienced players in the stable who can offer him support and encouragement, Justin can fulfil his ambitions.“
Here at TSMC, we have a number of brilliant young players who show enormous potential. Now having Justin as part of that group is exciting.“
There is absolutely no doubting his talent. It’s now a case of showing the world of darts just what he can do” added the TSMC owner.”
Those who saw Justin’s early career will be eagerly watching to see if he can rise to such level again. We wish him all the best for the future.
