On the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of September the United Kingdom Darts Association will kick-off their second season of the National League.
Reigning Premier Division champions Lancashire will begin their retention of the title with an away game against Glamorgan who finished the first campaign in fifth position on 220 points some 58 short of their opponents.
Newly promoted to the Cosmo Darts Premier Division Kent have had their opening fixture at home to Essex re-arranged to the following weekend the 10th and 11th of September. Staffordshire, the other promoted team from the Championship play away to Cornwall who escaped relegation from the premier last season by just eleven points.
In the Andy Wheeler Fisheries Championship Division Devon and Northamptonshire after being relegated from the premier will both start life in the second tier with home games and in turn will take on Humberside and Hertfordshire who both finished last season in a mid-table position.
Last season Buckinghamshire and West Midlands were relegated to the L-Style Division One and they will open their respective accounts in that division with a view to a quick return to the Championship. Buckinghamshire have a home tie against Merseyside who finished in the bottom half of the table last season while West Midlands will play away against Leicestershire who are newly promoted from division two as champions.
Nottinghamshire and Clwyd finished as the bottom two teams in the L-Style Division One and in their opening fixtures in division two Nottinghamshire will travel to take on Tyne and Wear who finished fourth last season, however the fixture has been re-arranged to the 1st and 2nd October. Clwyd meanwhile will take on Cumbria at home, Cumbria narrowly osing out on promotion last season as they finished third in the division.
Newly promoted champions of division three Black Country will open their account in the second division with an away game against West of England who narrowly avoided relegation last season by just six points. Runners-up in last season’s third division Gloucestershire have had their away game against Norfolk re-arranged to the 24th and 25th September.
Middlesex and Montgomery and Radnor were the two teams to drop from the second to third division and they will square up to each other once again in the curtain raiser in division three but not until the 10th and 11th September.
