Josh Payne, Thibault Tricole, Mike Warburton, Gavin Carlin and Scott Baker all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Lukas Wenig, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Payne, who entered Friday’s play on 8 points from the opening day of Group C, completed a clean sweep with five wins from five, as he topped the group overall, by recording victories over Franz Roetzsch, Davy Proosten, Steve Haggerty, Thibault Tricole and Dave Prins, to end on 18 points from a possible 20.
Elsewhere, Thibault Tricole also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, as he finished 2nd overall on 14 points, as Davy Proosten finished 3rd on 12 points, Franz Roetzsch 4th on 8 points, Steve Haggerty 5th on 6 points and Dave Prins bottom on 2 points.
In Group B, Mike Warburton topped the group overall, after winning three of his four matches, by recording victories over Gavin Carlin, Scott Baker and Mike Gillet, with his only defeat coming against Niall Culleton, to end on 12 points from a possible 16.
Elsewhere, Gavin Carlin and Scott Baker also secured their places in Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively, with Carlin ending on 10 points and Baker on 8 points, as Mike Gillet finished 4th on 6 points and Niall Culleton bottom on 4 points.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week 10 with the six players battling it out for just 1 spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 10:00pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
