Mark McGeeney, Mark Lawrence, Neil Duff, Paul Linwood and Kevin Edwards all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Johnny Haines, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
McGeeney, who entered Friday’s play on 10 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall, despite only winning two matches from five on Day Two, with his victories coming against Tony O’Shea and Darryl Fitton, to end on 14 points from a possible 20.
Elsewhere, Mark Lawrence also progressed through to Saturday’s finale on his debut week at the Super Series, after finishing 2nd overall on 12 points and edging past Adam Lipscombe, who also ended on 12 points, but finished in 3rd and missed out on leg difference, whilst Darryl Fitton finished 4th on 10 points, Vince Tripple in 5th on 8 points and Tony O’Shea bottom on 4 points.
In Group B, Neil Duff topped the group overall, after completing a clean sweep with four wins from four, as he recorded victories over Paul Linwood, Terry Jenkins, Richard Stride and Kevin Edwards, dropping just five legs on route, to end on 14 points from a possible 16.
Elsewhere, Paul Linwood and Kevin Edwards will also compete in Saturday’s finale, both on debut at the Super Series, as the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Linwood ending on 12 points and Edwards on 8 points, whilst Richard Stride finished 4th on 4 points and Terry Jenkins bottom on 2 points.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week 11 with the six players battling it out for just 1 spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 10:00pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
