Winma Extend DPA Deal

The increasingly global nature of our game, and the need for its biggest brands to have a worldwide presence, is resulting in more and more tie-ups between the UK’s big darts beasts and international stakeholders.

One of the hottest areas is Australia who have seen rapid post-pandemic development which has not gone unnoticed by one of biggest darts companies.

Winmau announced from their Cardiff headquarters:

Winmau, the world’s leading darts equipment manufacturer, is pleased to announce its latest three-year partnership with Dart Players Australia (DPA).

The agreement, effective immediately, will see Winmau continue as the exclusive dartboard and darts supplier of the DPA – who are the PDC’s affiliated tour in Australia – providing darts players from across the country with the highest quality equipment and brand support through their exclusive distributor Consolidated Leisure.

“We are delighted to continue this partnership with the DPA, which will support the continued growth of the sport in Australia at the top level,”

Winmau Marketing Director Simon Hall.

DPA Chairman Kevin Berlyn added:

“Darts is really buzzing in popularity and we’re looking forward to furthering the DPA’s mission to promote the sport throughout Australia. This continued partnership with Winmau is a great opportunity for us to reach even more darts players and enthusiasts in the region through new strategic partnerships. We still have much work to do and are really looking forward to the challenges ahead.”

Ray Atwell, Managing Director at CLS commented

“Helping Winmau continue as the exclusive darts equipment sponsor of the DPA’s professional darts tournaments and events is superb, as we see great benefits with the associated branding rights and marketing support for our Australian Darts Retailers. Winmau will also provide official darts equipment to all DPA tournaments and events all supplied exclusively through the CLS Distribution network”.

The DPA ProTour will return to a full calendar in 2023, having had to stage remote tournaments in the past three years due to Covid-related restrictions.

The DPA ProTour will start on the weekend of February 18-19, with the overall DPA ProTour Order of Merit winner qualifying for the sport’s biggest tournament – the Cazoo World Darts Championship at London’s Alexandra Palace.

Streaming coverage from DPA ProTour events will include broadcasts through PDCTV at video.pdc.tv from each weekend.
