With all of the domestic fixtures completed in the Kings Norton League and Copper Fox acclaimed champions with a total of forty-two points, six more than runners-up Bournebrook and a massive thirty-six more than Kings Heath who took the Wooden Spoon, the league staged the semi-finals of their League Cup. Northfield and Thurlestone finished third and fourth in the league both on thirty-four points with Northfield having just four legs of average to the good on their rivals. The two teams met in the cup semis with the close 4-3 result going in favour of Thurlestone. The second of the last four play-offs saw Rubery Social Club, who finished their campaign fifth in the table beat runners-up Bournebrook 5-2.

In the Consolation Cup semis, both games finished with a 5-2 result as Cock Inn beat Coppice and Bourneville defeated Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club.

In the Four Oaks and District League fixtures for game eleven saw both of the top two teams in division one lose 5-4. Leaders Nomad Flights lost at home to Bishop Vesey who are fifth in the division on fourteen points and second-placed Highcroft Social also lost their home game to Charley’s Flights who are bottom of the division. The top two are now joined on the same sixteen points by Old Horns Lions who had a 5-4 win over Walmley CSC Flights. Old Oscott Arrows are fourth in the division on the same fourteen points as Bishop Vesey after they were another team to lose 5-4 at home, their victors being next to the bottom of the table Golden Hind Lions.    

Division two leaders Oscott Social sailed close to the wind away to fellow title contenders and third in the division St Thomas Arrows as at 4-2 up they required just one more win to take the points but the home side rallied and levelled the match at 4-4 before Oscott Social Club took the final game 2-1.

There were four 180s recorded this week with three of them coming from the second division, they were achieved by K.Shorthouse (Highcroft Social), G.Stait (St Thomas Arrows), O.Day and M.Felkin (Scott Armers).

In the Camp Hill League leaders Erdington Nomads beat the Tyseley Bears in the League Cup to make up the last four teams while Peaky Blinder beat the Moseley Arms in a first-round cup rearranged game.

Game thirteen in the Sheldon and District Winter League brought about no changes whatsoever in the Premier Division despite leaders Sheldon Marlborough Arrows having a bye, however second placed Langley Arrows managed to reduce the arrears to just two points with a 7-2 win away to the bottom of the division Hollywood Social. Third, in the division, Dunky’s Boys won by the same 7-2 margin at Kingshurst Labour Club but they have now played one fixture more than the two teams above them.  

There was just one change in division one with Maggies and Shirley Misfits swapping places, Maggies moving up one place to fifth and the Misfits dropping one place to sixth after they lost at Hornet, this being only the third time bottom of the division Hornet have won in eleven games. Langley Flights hold on to pole position despite losing 6-3 at home to the Dingle and although their Darren Tudor notched a maximum, one of only three recorded this week, the other two provided by Nathan Wykes (Highwood Gerry’s Boys) and A.Sharpe (Maggies), Langley also staying four points clear at the top as second-placed Yardley Ex Colts lost 5-4 at home to Maggies. Yardley and third-placed Journeys End, who had a bye this week, are both four points off the top but with a game in hand.

For only the second time in eleven games division two leaders Brian’s Flights lost, going down 5-4 at home to Sheldon Marlborough Ridge who move one place up the table to sixth. Despite the defeat Brian’s Flights still have a two point’s advantage over Iron Horse Rebels, whose game at Castle Bromwich WMC was postponed, Trident Spears, who won 7-2 at Raven and Hampton and Solihull Cricket Club, who beat The Irish Centre 5-4.

The Stourbridge and District Wednesday Night League played off the final of their League Cup in which Stourbridge FC had a close 4-3 victory over Bell to lift the winners silverware.

There was just the one rearranged fixture played in the Netherton Thursday Night League, a game that takes the league to the halfway point of the season, however, it was a significant result as second in the table Netherton Sports and Social Club ‘A’ lost 5-4 at home to the Clock whose win moves them up two places in the table to third and are now level on twenty points with their hosts, the two teams now four points behind leaders Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘A’.

Horseley Tavern lose their number one spot in the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League and drop to fourth after suffering their first defeat in four, a 4-3 reversal at Allens ‘B’ who are fifth in the league but on the same six points as the four teams above them. Taking over at the top of the table is Allens ‘A’ whose 4-3 win at Waggon and Horses gives them a five legs of average lead over second in the table Cottage Spring who won 4-3 at home against Vine ‘A’ who drop four places to sixth. Ivy Bush are third in the league after their 5-2 win at Sow and Pigs. Sow and Pigs and Albion are the only two teams without a point so far.

The Stourbridge and District Monday Night League have reached the midway point of their season and leaders Cross (Oldswinford) have completed the first half of the campaign without losing a game. In the latest round of fixtures, Cross won 5-2 at sixth-placed Bell to keep them two points to the good on second in the league Old Liberal Club who had a 6-1 win at Raven. There is then a four point gap to third in the league Netherton Conservative Club who won a vital home tie with fifth-placed Princess 4-3, Princess now on twenty-eight points, the same number as fourth in the table Ten Arches who won 6-1 at Crestwood.

It’s as you were for the top five teams in the Rowley Monday Night League after leaders Bell took their undefeated record to five games with a 6-3 win at Tividale FC, the win keeping intact their two points lead over Hill and Cakemore, Gate Hangs Well, White Swan and Windmills End. Hill and Cakemore won 7-2 at Plough and Harrow, Gate Hangs Well beat Spring Meadow 7-2, White Swan were 8-1 winners at home against Loyal Lodge and Windmills End had a 6-3 success at Huntingtree. Whiteheath Tavern moved up two places to sixth with a 5-4 home in over Romsley Cricket Club.

With nine of the sixteen teams in the Black Country Men’s Super League having completed their fixtures only three fixtures were played this week the most significant one being the game between fourth placed Yeltz Bar ‘A’ and second in the league Railway Tavern. The result was a close 3-2 win for the home side Yeltz Bar ‘A’ to keep them in fourth place on 146 points, Railway remain second with 154 points, twenty-five short of leaders Allens Bar ‘A’. In the other two games played Rowley Bar and Grill made it eight wins from thirty games with a 3-2 home victory over next to bottom of the table Horse and Jockey ‘A’ while Yeltz Bar won their home tie with Allens Bar ‘B’ 4-1.

Nick Fullwell played and won two games in the Black Country Thursday Night Singles League this week beating both Neil Murphy and Shane Passey 6-2 to take his points tally to 49 from six games, but it was not enough for him to hold on to pole position as Gareth Johnston with 50 points from seven games replaced him in the number one spot. Johnston however did not have the best of starts to the night as he slipped to a 6-2 defeat against third in the league Shane Price. Johnston nevertheless was quick to recover as he beat Danny Bridgwood 7-1 and then went one better with an 8-0 success over Alex Mason. Third placed Price is on 47 points from seven games.

After completing week four games in the West Midlands Men’s Super League the top four places remain the same Kings Head ‘A’ despite having a bye lead the field with 19 points, the same number as second in the table Dog and Partridge whose fixture away to Gilbert’s ‘B’ was postponed. Third in the league Bridgtown Social are on fifteen points four short of the top two and from one game more than them, their latest seeing them win 5-0 at home against Gilbert’s ‘A’. Gilbert’s ‘B’ are fourth on 14 points.

In division one of the Gilbert’s Bar Monday Night Singles League Ben Johnson remains the only player to remain undefeated although in his latest fixture he was held to a 4-4 draw by John Simms. Johnson with 50 points has a nine points lead over second placed Jon Blakemore who beat Phil Clarke 6-2.

In division two Colin Wood is in a similar situation as Johnson as he hasn’t lost in his seven games played so far the most recent seeing him win 7-1 against Ben Smith to take his points to 53 with a slender two points advantage over second in the division Clark Cook who beat former leader Tony Singh 7-1.

Michele Pritchard continues to lead division three her 6-2 wins over Artur Lubkowski and Joe Bartolo giving her 69 points from nine games and a lead of nineteen over second placed Thomas Hollowood who has two games in hand.

With Nick Fullwell not playing in week eleven of the Ashwood Premier League there was a chance for his chasers to reduce the arrears and with a 5-2 win over Sam Aitkens followed by a 6-1 win against Carl Hipkiss John Green did exactly that and moved up one place into second on 124 points, ten short of Fullwell but from one game more. Chris Williams was formerly second, he played just the one fixture which he won 7-0 against Craig Lowin to leave him third in the table on 122 points, again from one more game than Fullwell.
