Justin Hood was victorious on Saturday as he crowned the winner of Week Eight at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Jacob Taylor in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 1st prize.
Hood, who entered the finale having won Group B on Thursday & Friday, won just one of his group phase matches, as he lost his opener to Leonard Gates, before defeating Martin Thomas to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Berry Van Peer, and from there he defeated the Dutchman, 4-2, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Hood came up against Jacob Taylor, who’d defeated Leonard Gates in the previous round, and on his debut week at the Super Series, ‘Happy Feet’ took the crown, as he whitewashed the Canadian, 4-0, to seal his place in Champions Week and pick up the £5,000 1st prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week Nine, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including WDF World Champion Neil Duff and Former World Cup of Darts winner John Henderson.
Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
