Taylor and Pilgrim Start Strongly

Jacob Taylor and Darryl Pilgrim took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Luke Littler in Saturday’s Champions Week finale at the Modus Super Series.

Taylor, who entered Champions Week having lost out in the finale in Week Eight but came in due to the withdrawal of Week Nine winner Lukas Wenig, won four matches from five to take the early lead in Group C, as he recorded victories against Jelle Klaasen, Owen Bates, Steve West and Justin Hood, with his only defeat coming against Matt Clark.

Elsewhere, Steve West also ended the day on 8 points, but sits behind Taylor on leg difference, whilst Matt Clark ended the day in 3^rd on 6 points, Owen Bates in 4^th on 4 points, with Jelle Klaasen and Justin Hood sitting 5^th and 6^th on 2 points each.

In Group B, Darryl Pilgrim took the early lead, by completing a clean sweep, with four wins from four, as he recorded victories against Scott Taylor, Mike Gillet, Jon Worsley and Mike Warburton, dropping just five legs on route.

Elsewhere, Scott Taylor ended the night in 2^nd on 6 points, Jon Worsley in 3^rd on 4 points, Mike Warburton in 4^th on 2 points, but it was a disappointing evening for Mike Gillet, who failed to register a victory, suffering four defeats from four.

Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Luke Littler in Saturday’s Champions Week finale, with Taylor and Pilgrim taking the early lead thus far.

Group C will commence from 1pm BST and Group B will commence from 10pm BST. Play will be streamed live on The Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
