Shane McGuirk, Ryan Harrington, Steve West, Daniel Lee and Dan Read all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Tommy Morris, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
McGuirk, who entered Friday’s play on 8 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall, after winning three of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Jack Main, Michel Van der Horst and Thibault Tricole, with his two defeats coming against Ryan Harrington and Lisa Ashton, to end on 14 points from a possible 20.
Elsewhere, Ryan Harrington also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 14 points, whilst Lisa Ashton finished 3rd on 12 points, Jack Main in 4th on 8 points, with Thibault Tricole and Michel Van der Horst finishing joint bottom on 6 points each.
In Group B, Steve West topped the group overall, after completing a clean sweep with four wins from four on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories against Dan Read, Danny Smith, Patrick Maat and Daniel Lee, to end on 14 points from a possible 16.
Elsewhere, Daniel Lee and Dan Read will also compete in Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively, with Lee ending on 10 points and Read on 8 points, whilst Patrick Maat finished 4th on 4 points and Danny Smith in 5th on 2 points, who replaced the injured Lee Shewan.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week Five with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 10:00pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
