Nijman Strikes Again

Bradley Brooks and Wessel Nijman were victorious on Friday, in winning Development Tour Events 11 & 12 respectively, as the third weekend of the PDC’s Youth Tour season commenced at Halle 39, Hildesheim.

Former World Youth Champion, Brooks, was victorious in Event 11 as he reached the final firstly by recording victories against Nando Engelen, Jurjen Van der Velde, Jarno Bottenberg, Enrico Frank, Connor Arberry, Fred Box and Harry Gregory, to set up a clash with Dutchman, Owen Roelofs.

The final began with Brooks racing into a 2-0 lead, with winning legs coming in 14 and 17 darts respectively, before Roelofs fought back by winning two straight legs of his own in a total of 27 darts to square the tie up at 2apiece. Brooks then won the following two legs to go within one of victory, leaving Roelofs needing to win three on the spin to keep his title hopes alive. The Dutchman did pull one leg back, before Brooks sealed the victory in Leg Eight with an 18 darter to pick up a 5^th Development Tour success of his career.

In Event 12, as he reached the final firstly by recording victories against Massimo Balsamo, Oliver Ufer, Keaton Williams, Luke Littler, Jurjen Van der Velde, Filip Ljubenko and Rusty-Jake Rodriguez, to set up a clash with Dylan Slevin.

The final began with Slevin taking the opener in 15 darts, before Nijman took complete control of the tie, with the Dutchman winning five consecutive legs, which saw him seal the victory in Leg Six with a 17 darter to pick up a 2^nd Development Tour success of the year and a 4^th of his career.

PDC Winmau Development Tour weekend continues on Saturday, with Events 13 & 14 taking place in Hildesheim, with play commencing at 10am BST, as all live scores and results can be viewed at tv.dartconnect.com.
