Lewis Gurney, Dan Read, Brett Claydon, Conor Heneghan and Robert Thornton all secured their places in Saturday’s finale after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series.
Friday’s successful five will join Jeroen Mioch, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Gurney, who entered Friday’s play on eight points from the opening day of Group C, won three of his five matches to top the group overall, as he recorded victories against Dan Read, Robbie King and Reece Colley, with his two defeats coming against Gino Vos and Charlie Large, to end on 14 points from a possible 20.
Elsewhere, Dan Read also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 12 points, edging out Robbie King, who missed out in 3rd on leg difference, whilst Charlie Large and Gino Vos finished 4th and 5th respectively on 8 points each, with Reece Colley finishing bottom on 6 points.
In Group B, Brett Claydon topped the group overall, despite only winning two of his four matches on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories against Mark McGeeney and Martin Adams, with his two defeats coming against Conor Heneghan and Robert Thornton, to end on 10 points from a possible 16.
Elsewhere, Conor Heneghan and Robert Thornton also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall on 10 points each, behind Claydon on leg difference, whilst Mark McGeeney finished 4th on 6 points and Martin Adams bottom on 4 points.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week 12 with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm BST.
