Former MODUS Super Series Champions Week winner Conan Whitehead ended Day 2 top of Group A, including his second straight big fish of the week in beating Alan Norris 4-2 at the Live Lounge.
The Barbarian leads Group A on legs difference from Steve West, who both end Day 2 with 14pts to their names.
The Kent born thrower started the day with a 4-1 victory over Colin Osborne, with both players coming into Tuesday’s session with 6pts behind leader Steve West.
Conan suffered defeat against Champion of Champions Semi Finalist Johnny Haines in his 2nd match of the day, with the ADC Southwest Vault 3.0 leader also defeating Steve West in the opening match of the day by a whitewash scoreline.
Whitehead was flawless from then on, starting with his first win of the day against ADC Europe qualifier Wesley Harms, wrapping up victory on a 90 check out with his last dart at double 9.
The Englishman continued to prove he was the man to beat at the Live Lounge on Tuesday, including a 100% checkout rate in beating Alan Norris 4-2 with the 170-finish coming in the 4th leg of the match.
The Barbarian’s most important victory though came in his final match, defeating Steve West 4-1 to wrestle top spot from the Essex born thrower.
Colin Osborne and Wesley Harms both ended the day with 10pts, after both claimed 2 wins with the Wizard defeating Johnny Haines 4-1 including a 136 checkout to break throw in the opening leg.
Johnny Haines added 6pts at the Live Lounge to move onto 8pts, whilst Alan Norris looks set for Group C after doubling his points tally with his second consecutive victory against The Punk.
The final day of Group A action returns from 9:30am on Wednesday with Dartsworld’s very own Colin Osborne opening the action against Wesley Harms as both players sit level on points in the table.
