Anton Ostlund was victorious on Saturday as he crowned the winner of Week Five at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Ryan Harrington in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Ostlund, who entered Saturday’s finale having finished 2nd in Group C on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his group phase matches, as he lost his opener to Conor Heneghan, before defeating Rhys Griffin to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Owen Bates, and from there, the Swede defeated Bates 4-1 to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Ostlund came up against Ryan Harrington, who’d defeated Conor Heneghan in the previous round, and from there, the Swedish thrower was victorious, as he denied a comeback from 3-1 down from Harrington to seal his place in Champions Week for the first time with a 4-3 victory and picking up the £5,000 weekly first prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week Six, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Robert Thornton, Berry Van Peer and Thibault Tricole.
Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
