Robert Grundy reigned victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week Six at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Paul Hogan in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Grundy, who entered the finale having won Group C on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning both of his group phase matches, as he came through deciding leg victories against Chas Barstow and Paul Hogan to progress through to the Semi Finals.
Here Grundy came up against Adam Hunt who had started the week so strongly. Grundy defeated the Former PDC Tour Card Holder, 4-2, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Grundy came up against Paul Hogan for the second time on the night, who’d defeated Berry Van Peer in the last four.
Grundy was victorious as he whitewashed ‘Crocodile Dundee’ 4-0 to book his place in Champions Week for the first time and pick up the £5,000 weekly 1st prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week Seven, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Mikuru Suzuki and Kevin Painter.
Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
