THE annual scramble for a place at the World Grand Prix is being witnessed once more in 2023. Fresh faced newcomers and grizzled veterans seek to qualify for the 2023 BoyleSports event as the race reaches it’s climax this weekend at the Hungarian Darts Trophy (ET12).
With one ranking event left to play before the qualification cut-off, a host of players are in the running to qualify for the double-start event.
Following the Hungarian Darts Trophy (ET12), which will take place from September 22-24, the 32-player field for the 2023 BoyleSports World Grand Prix will be confirmed.
The top 16 players from the PDC Order of Merit will qualify, the top eight of whom will be seeded, and they will be joined by 16 further qualifiers from the one-year ProTour Order of Merit.
The tables below show the latest standings in the race to the BoyleSports World Grand Prix, displaying each player’s minimum prize money by the qualification cut-off date (September 24).
As it stands, Chris Dobey, Callan Rydz and Ricardo Pietreczko occupy the remaining three available ProTour Order of Merit qualification places.
Dobey and Rydz face an anxious wait on their qualification hopes as the pair have failed to qualify for the Hungarian Darts Tropohy.
Rising Dutch star Gian van Veen leads the pack of hopefuls looking to snatch a place in Leicester, with Luke Woodhouse and William O’Connor among the players still in with a chance of qualifying.
The BoyleSports World Grand Prix will take place at Leicester’s Morningside Arena from October 2-8, as 32 of the world’s top stars compete for the prestigious title and £600,000 in prize money.
The tournament will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK, through the PDC’s worldwide broadcast partners including DAZN and Viaplay, and on PDCTV (excluding subscribers based in the UK, Germany, Austria & Switzerland).
