Andy Boulton was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week Two at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Dom Taylor in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Boulton, who entered the finale having finished 2nd in Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his two group phase matches, as he lost his opener to Scott Mitchell, before whitewashing Viktor Tingstrom to progress through to the Semi Finals.
The Scot came up against Jamie Kelling, where he had to come through a last leg shootout to defeat Kelling, 4-3, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Boulton came up against Dom Taylor, who’d defeated Viktor Tingstrom in the last four, and ‘X-Factor’ showed his class and experience to defeat ‘The Tower’ 4-2 and join his fellow compatriot, William Borland at Champions Week, as well as picking up the £5,000 weekly first prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week Three, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including the reigning Super Series Champion, Jim McEwan.
Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
