Chas Barstow was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week Three at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Leonard Gates in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Barstow, who entered the finale having finished 2nd in Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning both of his group phase matches, as he defeated Darren Johnson and Jake MacMillan to progress through to the Semi Finals.
The final four saw Barstow up against Martin Thomas, and from there he defeated his Welsh opponent, 4-1, to book a place in the final.
In the decider, the Englishman came up against Leonard Gates, who’d defeated Darren Johnson in the last four. Gates had almost throen3 a second perfect leg in two days as he went eight darts into another.
Nothing separated the pair throughout the tie, as Barstow came through a last leg decider to defeat Friday’s Nine Dart Star, 4-3, to book his place in Champions Week and join Scottish Duo William Borland and Andy Boulton, as well as picking up the £5,000 weekly first prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week Four, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field to be announced in due course.
Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
