Red Dragon Darts

Team 360-star Aurora Fochesato made history for Italian darts after beating Hungarian international Krisztina Turai 2-0 in the 2023 WDF Girls World Championship Final at Lakeside. The 17-year-old takes the £2,000 winners share ending what has been another successful year in her development, having also won the WDF Europe Cup Youth Girls Singles 2023 in Vienna.

Aurora made a bright start to proceedings on her first outing at the home of world darts, taking the opening set without reply from her opponent including a 60 finish to wrap it up.

Aury returned after the break to secure the win including a 15-dart break of throw in the 2nd leg of the set, winning 2-0 to become the 2nd WDF Girls World Darts Championship winner after Eleanor Cairns.

The win will be celebrated by dart fans across Italy as Fochesato becomes the maiden Italian Darts World Champion, a landmark achievement for the 17-year-old from Pordenone.

Adam Dee fell short in the Final of the WDF Boys World Championship losing 3-0 to Bradley van der Velden but the Irishman can hold his head high after winning on his debut at Lakeside the day before. Adam came from behind and showed strong character to defeat Andras Borbely 2-1 in the Semi Finals, with the Hungarian being the WDF Boys Number 1 ranked player.

The Winmau Team 360 player will take plenty of experience from his two days of action in Surrey, ahead of the upcoming darting year.

WDF Number 1 Andy Baetens beat Chris Landman 6-1 in the Men’s Final to become the first Belgian World Champion, including a 170 checkout against the former PDC Pro Tour Finalist. The Beast from the East also found a 146 checkout on double 13 in the final set, in what was a dominant showing all week from the Belgian, defeating the likes of Dennis Nilsson and Jonny Tata on his winning run.

Beau Greaves successfully defended her WDF Ladies World Championship crown after defeating Aileen de Graaf who was appearing in her first Lakeside Final. Beau and Arrow continues her 100% record at the home of world darts, dropping a combined two sets over her two World Championship winning campaigns.

The 4 Finals wrap up what has been another successful campaign for the World Darts Federation, with the whole event being available to everyone for the first time in the tournament’s history via YouTube. A big congratulations to the 3 New World Champions crowned on Sunday and Beau Greaves who claimed back-to-back Ladies World Championship titles.
