Kevin Painter, Mark Dudbridge, Mareno Michels, Jim McEwan and Wayne Jones all secured their places into Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Kristiaan De Boer, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Painter, who entered Friday’s play on 8 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall, after winning four of his five matches again, as he recorded victories against Steven Plumstead, Ricky Palmer, Mark Dudbridge and JT Davis, with his only defeat coming against Charlie Large, to end on 16 points from a possible 20.
Elsewhere, Mark Dudbridge also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 16 points, whilst Charlie Large finished 3rd on 10 points, Steven Plumstead in 4th on 8 points, Ricky Palmer in 5th on 6 points and JT Davis bottom on 4 points.
In Group B, Mareno Michels topped the group overall, after winning three of his four matches on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories against Jim McEwan, Tony O’Shea and Wayne Jones, with his only defeat coming against Scott Walters, to end on 12 points from a possible 16.
Elsewhere, Jim McEwan and Wayne Jones also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with McEwan ending on 10 points and Jones on 8 points, whilst Tony O’Shea finished 4th on 6 points and Scott Walters bottom on 4 points.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week Nine with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
