GVV Claims Final Development Tour Event

Red Dragon Darts

Gian Van Veen picked up yet another Development Tour title on Sunday, after defeating Dylan Slevin in the final of Event Five, as the opening weekend of the PDC’s Youth Tour season came to a close at the Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes.

Van Veen, who topped last year’s Development Tour Order of Merit, reached the final firstly by recording victories against David Fidler, Lewis Gurney, Connor Arberry, Colinn Haverkate, Owen Bates, Wessel Nijman and Cam Crabtree, to set up a clash with Slevin.

Once again, the entirety of the final was completely one sided, as Van Veen rattled off five straight legs in 20,19,11,13 and 23 darts respectively to whitewash his fellow Tour Card Holder and pick up a seventh Development Tour title of his career, as well as the £2,500 top prize.

To collect three matches verses three top tier (age group at least) opponents for the loss of one leg was an outstanding effort especially for the last of five, top drawer events, on the opening weekend.

The PDC Winmau Development Tour returns between 3-5th May with Events Six-Ten taking place at Halle 39, Hildesheim. All live scores and results will be viewed via tv.dartconnect.com.
