The Muffin Man Makes Friday’s Five

Steve Hine, Adam Lipscombe and Chas Barstow joined group winners Joe Croft and Neil Duff in securing their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series.

Croft, who entered Friday’s play on 8 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall, despite only winning two of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Johnny Stewart and Nigel Lloyd, with his three defeats coming against Steve Hine, Jimmy Hendriks and Antony Allen, to end on 12 points from a possible 20.

Elsewhere, Steve Hine also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2^nd overall on 12 points, edging out Jimmy Hendriks, who also ended his campaign on 12 points, but missed out on leg difference, whilst Nigel Lloyd and Antony Allen finished 4^th and 5^th respectively on 10 points each, with Johnny Stewart finishing bottom on 4 points.

In Group B, Neil Duff topped the group overall, after winning two of his four matches on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories against Chas Barstow and Chris Quantock, with his two defeats coming against Adam Lipscombe and Devon Petersen, to end on 10 points from a possible 16.

Elsewhere, Adam Lipscombe and Chas Barstow also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2^nd and 3^rd respectively overall, with Lipscombe ending on 10 points and Barstow on 8 points, whilst Chris Quantock and Devon Petersen finished 4^th and 5^th on 6 points each.

The five qualifiers will join defending Champion Week winner Scott Taylor who reached Saturday’s final by winning Group A earlier in the week.

The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week Four with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm GMT.
