Humphries to Make History? Is There Value Elsewhere

Red Dragon Darts

LUKE Humphries will attempt the unprecedented in the ninth round of the BetMGM Premier League this Thursday in Belfast. As the world champion goes for a fourth nightly win in a row we looked at some of the betting interest surrounding the night with title sponsors betmgm.co.uk.

“Luke Humphries’ stunning displays over the past three weeks have seen him open up a lead at the top of the table and he’ll be aiming to extend his lead with another big performance in Belfast.

UK Director at BetMGM, Sam Behar

Match Value:

  • Luke Humphries and Luke Littler kick off the action in Belfast with an intriguing quarter final fixture. Humphries will be looking to extend his lead at the top of the table and is priced at 3/5 to reach the semi finals, while Littler is available at 5/4 to get the victory.
  • Michael Van Gerwen will be looking to return to form in Belfast after four winless weeks and the Dutchman heads into this match with Michael Smith as the slight favourite, priced at 8/13. Smith will want to build on his strong showing last week in Dublin where he reached the final and he’s priced at 6/5 to advance to the semi finals.
  • Third placed Nathan Aspinall can strengthen his grip on a position in the top four with a win over Wales’ Gerwyn Price. Aspinall is priced at 5/4 while Price heads into the fixture at 3/5.
  • Peter Wright will be aiming to get himself back into play off contention with a win over Rob Cross on Thursday. Wright heads into the match priced at 39/20 with Cross available at 4/11 to get the win.
  • Fans are still waiting for the first nine dart finish of the BetMGM Premier League season. It’s 8/1 for a nine dart finish to be thrown in Dublin.

Nightly Winner:

It’s all to play for as we head into the second half of the season with just four points separating Michael Van Gerwen in second and Rob Cross in eighth. Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price will be aiming for a strong points return in Belfast as they aim to lift themselves back into play off contention.”

Luke Humphries has been on remarkable form over the past three weeks with a hat trick of round victories and he heads to Belfast as the favourite to pick up another round win priced at 2/1. Yet no one has managed this previously and perhaps the value is elsewhere?

Luke Littler is still searching for his first Premier League round win and starts the evening priced at 10/3, while Gerwyn Price will be looking to pick up some valuable points and he starts the night priced at 5/1.

  • Luke Humphries – 2/1
  • Luke Littler – 10/3
  • Gerwyn Price – 5/1
  • Michael Van Gerwen – 11/2
  • Rob Cross – 15/2
  • Nathan Aspinall – 12/1
  • Michael Smith – 12/1
  • Peter Wright – 20/1

Wright and Smith should not be counted out at all. Wright is improving steadily in other formats and Smith has already won a night and reached a final!
