Rhian O’Sullivan was victorious on Saturday as she was crowned the winner of Women’s Week at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Fallon Sherrock in the final and claiming the £5,000 top prize.

O’Sullivan, who entered the finale having finished 2nd in Group C on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of her two group phase matches, as she firstly suffered a loss to Beau Greaves, before defeating Vicky Pruim to progress through to the Semi Finals.

At that stage, the Welsh thrower who is twice a Lakeside runner-up came up against Kirsi Viinikainen and from there, she defeated the Finland star, 3-1, to book her place in the final.

In the decider, O’Sullivan came up against Fallon Sherrock, who’d whitewashed Beau Greaves in the last four, and nothing separated the pair throughout the tie until O’Sullivan sealed the victory in the fifth and deciding leg to defeat ‘The Queen of the Palace’ 3-2 and become the inaugural Women’s Week Champion, as well as collecting the £5,000 first prize.

The 43-year-old also received an invitation to appear in Series 8 of the full MODUS Super Series and will appear again during the next 12 weeks.

The Super Series returns on Monday with Series Eight commencing and the start of Week One, with the field including 3x World Champion Martin Adams.

Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
