Delight For Duff at MODUS Super Series

Former Lakeside World Champion Neil Duff became the latest name to reach Champions Week in the 8th instalment of the MODUS Super Series, beating ADC Qualifier Terry Nash 4-3 in the Final.


The Northern Irishman picks up his fourth weekly win at the Live Lounge, claiming £5000 in prize money, to add to what has been an already successful year for the Ballyclare associated player.


Neil secured his place at Finals Night having topped Group C ahead of Runner Up Terry Nash, due to finishing 4th in Group A earlier in the week.


“Duffman” opened his account on Finals Day with a whitewash win over Belgian international Timothy Verbrugghe, averaging 100.2 and including a 102 finish in the opening leg.


The Red Dragon player then secured top spot in Final Group 2, after winning his second leg against Noa-Lynn van Leuven, with the Dutch international running out a 4-2 winner in the contest.


Duff then produced a sensational performance in whitewashing Jon Worsley in the Semi Finals, averaging a staggering 109.31 in a 4-0 win, missing just one dart on the outer ring.


Terry Nash secured his place in a maiden weekly Final with a stunning performance himself, where he scored over 106 in a 4-0 win over Noa-Lynn van Leuven, with van Leuven enjoying an impressive first appearance at the MODUS Super Series having reached the Semi Finals.


Neil produced 5 out of 6 perfect darts to leave 181 in the 7th and deciding leg against Terry Nash in the Final, with both finalists hitting checkout rates of over 44%.


The Northern Irishman got over the winning line, hitting an 81 finish on Double 13 in 3 darts to win at the Live Lounge, joining Tom Sykes, Jim Long, Richard-Eirig Rowlands and Jimmy van Schie at Champions Week.


The MODUS Super Series returns for Week 6 on Monday from 9:30am, with 2 Time back-to-back World Senior Darts Championship winner Robert Thornton amongst the competing players in Group A.
