Luke Littler’s odds have been cut to 9/4 from 10/3 with William Hill to win the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award, after taking 30% of bets in the market.
The darts sensation took the world by storm, reaching the final of the 2024 PDC World Championships where he was installed at 28/1 for the award, he has seen support ever since.
Paris gold medallist Keely Hodgkinson remains the 1/3 favourite in the market but has eased since the release of 2024’s shortlist from 1/6.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Luke Littler has shortened to 9/4 to win the 2024 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award, after taking the largest proportion of bets placed in the market.
“The darts star was as big as 10/3 following his inclusion on the six-strong shortlist but has seen considerable support in the run up to the award.
“He leads the ‘Betting without Keely Hodgkinson’ market at 4/9, followed by Joe Root who has been cut from 25/1 to 11/4 in the without market.”
